Nevada Smog Rules question

Anyone know off the top of their head what the smog rules are in Nevada?

I looked at the Nevada DMV home page, and it says
Quote:

Passenger cars and trucks need an emissions test if they are:

* Based in the urban areas of Clark or Washoe county;
* Gasoline powered
* Diesel powered with a gross vehicle weight under 8,500 pounds; and
* 1968 model year or newer
I know Clark is Las Vegas, and I assume Washoe is Reno. Does anyone know what are the acceptable levels, and is there a visual inspection like in California?

Thanks,

Tom

What kind of levels are you speaking of? I can get my smog sheet for this year on my 76 911 if that will help.

And yes, the smog machines here ask the smog tech if there is visable smog.

Just so you know. I have to take my 76 in to my mechanic to have it smogged, well, because it just wouldnt pass if I went to a regular station. Shhhhhhhh

Thanks, that would be great. Just what they test for and the allowable levels, if they are listed.

I really wish that was all that is involved in California's visual inspection. The computer gives them a list of stuff they check for, like checking the timing, idle speed, and check for smog equipment and other stuff, and most engine modifications are forbidden, even if they make the car run better/cleaner.

Thanks,

Tom

No problem. I didnt drive her today, (sorry, 4 other vehicles need to be driven too). So when I get home tonight, 5:30pm Las Vegas Time, I will pull my smog sheet, and give you all the testable levels.

Well, seems that I didnt have it the place I thought I had it. Ive moved, so some of my office stuff is still buried in the pile of packed boxes. Ill will prop not get to that till Sunday though, I have a couple of concerts, and a football game to work, so I wont have a day off till then.
