Have you had a sports or activity injury?

Wondering who here has ever been injured in athletic/activity event?

Here: 1. Broken jaw (severe), sport/activity: football.

. 2. Broken thumb, sport/activity: football.

Broke correct form during a hack squat in the gym. At the time I thought i sprained my lower back. Five years later it still nags me and now I am heading in for an MRI, possible slipped disc.

I have arthritis in my shoulders from my young days of benchpressing 375 lbs. and showing off in the Gym.

I have had my right knee scoped due to a torn miniscus I have no idea how or when I did that one. It just popped one day when I kneeled nown while waxing the car. Its possibly a flag football injury. That is the only recolection I have of jarring my knee.

Shoulder popped out playing hockey--got hit and then hit the ice hard... torn ACL playing flag, yes flag, football. Fractured tailbone "coccycs"? or however you spell it, playing a good ole fashioned game of tackle football with friends.

Severed hand during band camp. Just kidding about that one.

Broken shoulder skiing.

Snapped ACL being hit by Cadillac.

Seven fractures in right foot from landing sideways off an 80 foot double in motocross race.

Three cracked ribs going over the bars in MX practice.

Broken ankle in Gus Macker tournament (passed right out, it was neat)

I'm sure I missed a few. Now that I'm 80 pounds over weight I tend to hurt myself much less in athletics

Edit, almost forgot a neat one.... Another MX crash, but not on a track. Went over backwards deep into 5th gear(maybe 50-60 mph)while doing catwalk down a dirt road. Slid off the road and cracked my melon (w/helmet) on a mailbox post rendering me night-night. I had major leg muscle hanging out of my leg and lost about three years of memory. It was days before it all came came back. In the beginning I would lose my short-term memory every 30 seconds or so. Very strange indeed. I "woke up" in the CatScan tube and freaked out which was also neat Many other neat memory loss stories on that one. MX bikes are great and I'm sure I'll get my boys racing too

Almost every injury I've had has been martial arts related.

I got kicked squarely in the rib cage while playing goalie in a "recreational" soccer league a few years ago. The result was a displaced rib fracture. The bottom rib on that side was broken, but an MRI revealed that the two pieces were no longer lined up. One ended up on top of the other.

I do not recommend this!

5 years of football with NO major injuries! No injuries from wrestling, soccer, or basketball.

3 broken, displaced ribs with hemothorax from trying to learn snowboarding after age 40.

Ruptured disk in my back from skiing accident.

99.9% of the time = exercise and stretching (some rather embarassing yoga moves)

.1% of the time = 1 valium + 1 vicodin and......ZZZZZZzzzzzzz

Cool

Dislocated or seperared both shoulders playing HS football...which cascaded into minor "pop-outs" while kayaking and surfing. The worst was in practice: I was throwing a deep route and one of the linemen caught my arm in mid throw. I went down like a sack of corn, whimpering all the way.
T-boned by a Honda riding my bike to base ball practice in college...tibia and fibia had compound fractures, left foot broken in multiple places. End of fairly mediocure BB career.
I went from being a slow white guy to having my 40 yard speed clocked by a sun dial.
I still play in an over forty league, where I an among my glacier peerage.

I have relatively boring injuries. Broken fingers from football. Separated ribs snowboarding. I've done something nefarious to my hip from running, and I still haven't firgured out what it is.

Motorcycle. got run off the road by a taxi and glanced a light post.
Hit with my hand and snapped my left handlebar off (we drive on the left so I didn't cross the street - for the US readers) then hit my knee, shattered the knee and crushed the femur.
Lots of metal holding that all together from hip to shin now. lots of clicking and popping and I can predict the weather now!

all this with an impact speed of about 10 to 15 KMPH

I've been lucky compared to some of you guys. Just a broken foot, torn knee ligament, and cracked rib from raquetball in college and after. It's a rough sport.

broken toe = soccer
disconnected knee cap (worst next to open heart healing and recovery, as far as pain goes that is) = football
rotated discs in lower back and neck = car wreck
