What Do You Think of This, Bell?

You seem to be one of the resident stereo experts so I wanted to get your opinion on the factory stereo in my Cayenne. Bose 14 speaker 350 watt system. I know little about stereos, but know this system can make your ears bleed. I'm sure there are many aftermarket systems that would put it to shame, but is this a decent factory system?

BTW: a slight drawback is the amp takes up the spot for the spare tire - so the Cayenne comes with no spare! Just a can of sealant and an electric compressor .......

haven't heard the Cayenne system, but I must say that some of the higher end factory stereos these days are sounding a lot better than they have in the past. The only thing that boggles my mind is the number of speakers... what exactly do all 14 of those do? The best competition systems in the world don't usually have anywhere close to that many speakers. Also, I know from experience that if you ever want to install a 'real' system in a car with a Bose setup, you're going to be in for a real headache.

I haven't verified the 14 speakers, but that's what they said on a review on SpeedTV last week???????

Adam, here's the BIG Porsche next to the 'small' one.

So far, I've found 10 speakers - 2 in each of the 4 doors and 2 in the dash. Pretty sure there's a sub-woofer somewhere too. I'm still looking ......

Ah, thanks Curt!

I actually quite like the look of those two. The Cayenne looks as though it'd be a tight squeeze in your garage, there...

Well, I'm up to 12 speakers - 2 more in the rear storage area. Possibly 2 more small ones there as well but haven't figured out if they're air vents or speakers yet????
