"I AM OZ
"Your biggest problem is with the butt grabber. "Pay NO attention to the weasle behind the curtain. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1065553836.jpg So who's buying that logic? |

Yeah, it maybe over by then. . . though Davis positioned himself for a "dangling chad" argument if he looses. (anything to hold onto the power . .er..uh . . I mean; to hold on to the right to represent Californians:rolleyes:
I'm really hoping the outcome is decisive. The reason I asked, was from seeing the odd media coverage. It's like they're saying; "NewsFlash:The young testosterone infussed bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger groped or made sexual advance to some 15 women over the years . .. Gee, who would a thought? Yet they keep repeating this (spun slightly different). Do they really think that people are buying their spin? |
ummm....Island....you don't live in California.
I do, and shall be voting no on the recall, and voting for anyone but mr. arnold. He doesn't have a clue. While you may question if people are buying the grope spin, why is everyone buying into the hollywood hype? |
Well Nostoic...Warren Buffet is (2nd wealthest American), George Schultz is (former Sec. of State), David Drier is...(R Congressman from CA and one of the STARS of the R party).
It's the talent that Arnold can bring with him to the party that counts... It's an end of the corruption of Grey Davis and the Democratic party, and HOPEFULLY can put CA on the road to sound fiscal managment. |
You're right Dr No. . . my primary residence is not in CA; though I do have business interest there.
Personally I would like to see McClintok win; but the bigger issue is ousting Davis (IMO). The guy is crooked (IMO) and exersising the power of the voters to remove such a crook, sends a huge message to corupt politicians that, evey once in a while, the voters notice when they're getting taken to the cleaners. IMO, Arnold will do "okay" but will be an easy target for off topic attacks from the established left (for the next election). Arnold is actually rather "left" . . .just not "main-stream left" enough for the "Dem" lable. . .even with the Kenedy connection. |
Drier may be a star, but more's the pity. I don't find him to be very bright...but then what politician is?

well, Clinton was smart (Rhodes scholar), but stoopid, Carter was smart (nuclear engineer...and at least he could pronounce it correctly unlike our current president). I even like McCain...he seemed to have street smarts, but he just couldn't control his temper/image.
Face it...politics is kinda like Groucho Marx's comment about not wanting to belong to any club that would actually have him as a member. |
<Sigh> I would've voted for McCain, even though he became AZ's senator by being a carpetbagger (like H. Clinton in NY).

Those darn Republicans, who hold a minority in the Legislature and are not in the Governor's office (yet, but it's only 5pm). How DARE they oppose a straight 50% vote on tax increases! How DARE they block any spending measure they can, even though they usually can't! It's all their fault! They're ruining the state! And if you're going to trot out the old "Pete Wilson" argument, well, I guess you've been asleep for the last four years. PS: there is no federal constitutional provision for recalling GWB. Greetings from Earth SmileWavy Colin |
I would not be in favor of recalling President Bush, his case calls for impeachment and possible criminal prosecution.
As for recalling a legitimately elected governor and replacing him with an incompetent actor who is a puppet for more intelligent, (and cynical), people, I guess that we get the leaders that we deserve. :( What do I have against Arnold S. for governor?? Well, he seems to be about as well informed as my dog when it comes to matters of budget and state governence, (small matters, I know, but still), plus every indication reveals him to be phony and self-agrandising to the hilt, even by movie star or politician standards. And that is w/o even touching the molester thing. Other than that, he'd have my vote! :) |
Personally, I'd never trust somebody married to a Kennedy...:D

The Daily Show had a very funny bit last night (like most nights). Following on the heels of the chief weapons inspector saying they hadn't found anything, Rumsfeld was shown holding a sign saying "Give the insepctors more time" et tu, Donald? |
For the past year or so, I haven't watched the news, don't get the newspaper, don't follow politics but instead concentrate on my business, my family and Porsches! It seems that it matters little in my life whether there are Republicans or Democrats in office - I'll succeed in spite of either of them. The little bit I have heard about this election, however, is the typical liberal media bias. So whether you're conservative or a bleeding heart liberal, you've got to love the fact that the media has once again been handed their hat, despite their best efforts to sway the election! I might even switch on CNN tonight to see all the long faces!!! :D

CNN is saying Arnold is in.
Tom |
Going according to plan...
...then comes Arnold's "Total Recall..." ...and on... ...and on... ...one state after the other... |
Regardless of the outcome, I think I'd have a lot more FUN watching Arnold be your governor. I'm keeping my fingers crossed in the hopes of more silliness from the coast!!! :D
