Another recall is planned?

So the rumor is no matter who wins CA's recall election, the opposing party will immediately instigate a second recall to get that winner removed from the Governor's office. Hence, nothing will get done, and CA. government will truly be paralyzed.

Ridiculous. Just ridiculous...:(

I love it. :D

I said several weeks ago on this Board that Willie Brown was going to start a recall drive if a Repblican wins...

I believe that is exactly how a second recall will be seen by all -- frivolous.

Without cause, a second recall will get no where. (not enough sig's)

The "cause" for the first one was a megalomaniac with a lot of money (Issa). Mistakes were made, but they're made in every state. And the CA budget problems pale in comparison to the national budget.

How come no recall of Bush? Oh yeah...we'll just wait until the next election and decide it that way. What a novel concept...

More to the point...before the 2000 election who woulda thought of a recall on a recall election....No one is the answer....what this means in the long term for the American Repblic is thats it's FINISHED. get it. As the government becomes more and more entangled in the morass or chaos of a government become impotent...nothing will get done. At which point some one or group will step in with the peoples blessing that finially something will get done to straighten out the mess......

BTW...A recall election is a legal way to get rid of incompetency. The President can be impeached...but the Federal government doesn't have provision for recall. Recall is only at the State level where their constitutions allow for it.

I'm a firm believer in the Peter Principle. That explains a lot of our top politicians...

Too bad actors can't be recalled from the entertainment industry! Particularly ones who couldn't pass a high school acting class, but somehow wind up rich enough to buy multiple Hummers and finance their own campaign for public office. If competence was what this was about, and there was a basic knowledge test to assume state-wide office, Arnold would not be able to run for head dog catcher. Give me a break, you know what this is about.

And we need to keep current on our urban legends. The governator needs to be in office a certain amount of time, (6 mo.?), before recall process can begin. So the immediate recall rumor is not quite real. But then what is out here right now?

Acting ability has little to do with the entertainment industry. Similarly, politics have little to do with truth and competence. That said early exit polls show a landslide for the recall and my pick ANold getting 50%. Yes he's an entertainer (not actor) but he's got charisma and is surrounded by competent support. Short of pulling a O.J. he has the best chance to succeed where Davis has failed.
