Cute....From what I read in the paper...the Tiger grabed Roy by the arm....not bit, but grabbed...Roy then hit the Tiger with his micro phone.
Roy wasn't paying attention...the Tiger was trying to tell him by grabbing his arm that something was wrong. Roy didn't pay attention an hit the Tiger which set him off. One has to realize that Roy has had a long relationship with the animal... one of bonding with the Tiger. So from experience with my own animals they let you know when they are upset with something... My female Airdale is always barking or grumping at me about something...if she wants to go out, to be fed...or just to leave her alone...she doesn't like to be held. My cat if I rub her stomach will put my hand in her mouth and bite down just enough to let me know enough is enough... or even with the vet she will put her paw up to show she is uncomfortable.... With my female Airdale (had her since she was 6 weeks old) I have for years gotten nose to nose with her when playing and shes barking and growling at full tilt...and she has never slipped and snapped or bitten me. Thats the level of trust I have with her. Now George my Airdale rescue I won't do that with...because this is something he isn't familar with and I don't want ot stress him that much. The first thing I did to acclimate him to my household was to always be sensative to his senseabilities...what he is used to. Gradually he accepted more of the routine. He has turned out to be a wondrfull addition to my family. Very sweet dog...

From what I heard, the Tiger did not even mean to hurt Roy. He grabed him by the neck to take him away from what he perceived as a danger for his master. Just like tigers do with their little ones. Unfortunately, one of his teeths pierced Roy`s carotide...

Their show at the Mirage was amazing! I sat in the pit seats in the stage area and the illusions were phenomenal!
You could see, smell and feel these great cats as they walked by within arms reach of the audience. We can only hope that Roy makes a complete recovery and that the lights once again go on at the Sigfried and Roy Show.
