I really wanted a showdown between the Cubbies and the Sox. Would have been a breath of life for the game.

Being a Mariniers fan I'm nearly as disgusted as you because we should have traded for Aaron Boone this year & David Justice a couple years back when he did the same thing to us.

Jay? hoot! Seriously tho...outside of NY and wherever the Marlins come from, who's gonna watch? I was rooting for the Cubbies, simply because it had been so long. So, I watched. But with them gone, I'm going to watch countless hours of this? The "tense" fans, the guys eating sunflower seeds and scratching their nuts, waiting 5 minutes for the next pitch, only to watch those damn yankees win again? Nope. I think those are the nights I have scheduled for cleaning lint out of my belly button. the series? about as exciting as locking my radio into NPR.

Could have been the coolest matchup in my lifetime, Cubs-Red Sox. Instead I'm taking the wife to some chick flick tonight, do not give a damn except that I hate the Yankees. Go Marlins by default!
