I still say Mobil 1 is the way to go in the 915 gearbox during winter months.

It is really uncool for you guys to take this thread in a different direction than it was intended! We are here to talk about fiberglass doors!

Now, GT-racing makes an aluminum door hinge that goes in the doors. Their position is, not only is it lighter, but it saves you having to trash a 911 door for an old steel hinge. That's good thinking.

All we need now is a titanium cupholder, so you can mount a beer in the door! The 911R had such a holder-- you don't think they drove for 10,000 miles at 130.67 mph in the rain at Monza without a little liquid refreshment, do you?

Being one of the chief culprits of sideway threads, I think it can be interesting, espiecally when five pages later it get's moved to off topic. :D I think there are better things to concern myself with, like which wrench is going to work best to get the bottom 19mm nut on my rear caliper tight. It was a PITA to get out & I'm not looking forward to putting it back in. I'm thinking that a double box end offset might work. Guess I'll have to stop buy Sears.

I had this problem with my rear 930 calipers.
I modified a 19mm offset box wrench for this application. I cut the handle off to make it shorter and ground away material on the inside of the curved part.

P.S. Sorry about hijacking your door thread there Thom. :D

And a pair of them weighs like 11 pounds! that's great. They even have a molded in depression for a door handle, although I can't see why you would want that, it's not like you're going to mount a lightweight plastic door handle on that.

racea911 10-24-2003 10:15 AM

What would you rather bee or a wasp?

Yeah but where do I mount my cell phone?

And you would think they would have a place to put my trash from "dashboard dinning".

What I can't decided is if the car looks funny without the window trim and little side window, the fiberglass doors don't seem to be consitant on including the side window and trim or leaving it off completely.

When I am not thinking about it, I don't notice the difference, but when I am thinking about it not having the window looks werd...
