Speaking of great engineering schools and car guys, didn't Jim Hall (Mr. Chapparal) go to Cal Tech? I think he got his AE degree there. Jim pioneered ground effects race cars in the early '60s, even before he thought to install inverted wings a few years later. As a little kid I saw his Chaparral 2J Can-Am "sucker" car run at Watkins Glen in '70, driven by Jackie Stewart; it destroyed the field so badly that the SCCA promptly banned it :( .

i would like to see a "porsche" CV rather then a straight MIT resume...I think that would let us porscheophiles know more about the 911 wayne then the E=mc^2 Wayne

Ya guys do realize that in the not so distant past Automobile Technology was the "cutting edge" and the best of the best wanted to do the work.

They seem to have since moved on to computers etc. A fellow like Wayne is that bridge from the (glorious) past to the (dismal) now.
