Hosed on Ebay

I've been dealing with this for nearly 60 days now and am convinced that I won't get satisfaction.

I won an auction 8/25 for a fiberglass Ruf bumper(Click hear to see). Sent the guy a MO for $150 (I know, it was real cheap) and after flimsy excuses and lies from him and never receiving the product, I filed an ebay fraud complaint - not that it will do anything to remedy the problem. This guy is a real tool and responded back on the complaint that I defrauded him. Not sure how he reasoned that out since he still has the bumper and my money. The money isn't the biggest issue, I'm just po'ed that there is no way to get a resolution through ebay that has any teeth. And since this guy is in FL and I'm in WA, there's not much chance of me knocking on his door.

Anyway, I just wanted to vent.

It's Ok, there, there....it's not the end of the world, you'll get over it, and in a few years you probably laugh about it!

Sorry to hear you got juked Mark, yours is exactly the reason I haven't jumped into the waters of ebay, too many predators. A guy down the street has a RSR project going on & gets all his stuff off of ebay. I just can't see giving anybody the chance to bend me over. If the item is local, I might be willing to give it a try.

Mark,

I see that he retaliated with negative feedback...that sucks!

So, to sum things up:

He has your money
He has your product
AND
He F'ed you over with neg feedback

No wonder his EBAY ID is PorscheProblem.

Mark,

Try cross-posting your offer here:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/southeast-us-ar-al-fl-ga-ky-la-ms-nc-sc-tn/

The SE forum doesnt look like it gets too much action though...but still worth a shot.

That's a bummer Mark. I myself have not been burned as of yet and have mailed away even larger amounts of $$$ with everyone so far delivering the goods.

That's crap...rat him out on the main board. Guys like that don't deserve a break. If he owns a 911 (which it looks like he does), he'll surface somewhere, but being the 911 world is tiny, he'll never live down the fact that he's a thief!

Add: And if you are not satisfied, pay a couple of crack heads 20 bucks a piece to do the biz on his arse.

Bid was $123, you sent himn $150, how was he going to ship a bumper cross country for $27?

I like to pay for auctions with paypal, charged through my credit card. Then I have some recourse through my credit card company. I won't let paypal link to my bank, so they can't withdraw funds directly from my account.

He estimated ship costs. I paid with MO cause that's what he preferred.

This makes escrow look more and more attractive.

Greyhound is likely the only way you could ship that piece anyway. It would have been inexpensive but more than $27.

Looks like he put his name and home address right in the eBay ad.

Yup his name and addy are there.

Rick,
The escrow is a great idea, but for these small deals, I just trust that people will do the right thing. I would have happily paid more for shipping had he divulged the cost up front. Instead he waited till he got the cash in hand and tried to jack me for more money.

Again, it's not the money that matters anymore, it's the guy's lies that have me po'ed.

Latest update. The seller has agreed to let a local pick the bumper up at his shop in Englewood, FL 8:00 A - 5:00P. If anyone in that area wants a Ruf bumper cheap with no hassle, I'll connect you and the seller. Send me $100 and it's yours.

Why not get a local pelicanhead to ship it for you?

Someone volunteer.

I'm going through a similar ebay beef with a $#%@ in Hong Kong, except the dollar value is closer to US$210.

The seller has been giving me a song and dance about how there were public holidays that delayed shipping, a rejection of the item once it arrived here in Australia by our local Customs Bureau and then they apparently it was sent back to HK. I know for a fact that this is bull*****!

Australian Customs told me that they would have contacted me to resolve any query on the item's declared value.

The tone of my emails to this gimp has gone from mildly annoyed to pretty pissed off and I'm starting to wonder how cheap mercenaries are in Hong Kong. I won the item on Sept. 30, paid overnight with PayPal and 23 days later, I still haven't seen the item after paying through the eyeballs for 3-5 day Express International Shipping.

I've done plenty of international transactions on ebay without fuss in the past, so to say I'm furious would be an understatement. I'm tempted to give ebay all away. Mark, I feel your pain, buddy.
