wines....
name some good 8-15 dollar wines...yeah yeah...they're the cheap wines, but they're great everyday drinkers...
I'm enjoying a 2002 CAVIT Pinot Noir right now. wAAAY better than the 2000... the nose is vanilla and berry, the palette is strong, but not biting like a merlot... sjd

Pinot noirs are the only wines I'm drinking now. New Zealand is doing some really good ones.
The one I had last night was just like my ex; marvelous style and great legs ![]() |

Move to Italy. The reds taste best there, for some reason. . . .and they are cheaper than water (well, almost)

Everywhere in Italy I asked for vino rosso locale. It was great and easy to drink.

Okay people, this is "the girlfriend". You are looking for some good wine under $10. Here they are: Angeline (Martin Ray 2nd Lable) Cab is really good for under 10. New one I discovered. Ramirana, Chile, the Carminier is scrumptious. 2 levels, regular and reserve. Reserve is probably retailing around $15. The cabs are "BIG" & jammy, loved them. I would put the Ramirana wines under "You need to try, Trust me". If you want something different, Schutz Oles. Petite Syrah, Rattlesnake Vineyard. Sooooogood, Sooooodifferent. Big & Jammy.

Cavit typically has a very consistent, quality product. When they were introduced here in NJ a few years ago they took off like gangbusters. Their Pinot Grigio is a good everyday "table" wine.

The ladies in my neighborhood swear by "2-Buck-Chuck".
Otherwise known as Charles Shaw. Merlot and/or Chard. It's not really $2/bottle but damn close. Trader Joe's is the place to get it....by the case usually. ![]()

Life is too short to drink bad wine - but with kids, mortgage, and 17 year old p-car I can't afford the $20+ wines anymore either. There are tons of import and domestic bargains out there, ask for help from the store in choosing, I do. |

There was a bumper crop of grapes the past 1-2 years and as a result the higher quality is filtering down to the cheap seats.

Our favorites lately are German Reislings and Penfolds Rawson's Retreat Merlot. The reisling is a bit sweet but we like it and the Penfolds is a smooth merlot...that also goes down way too easy.
