80's arcade games on a PC??
Is there anyone on the board here who knows how to get coin op games from the 80's off the internet to work on their PC? I've heard bits and pieces about BOOT and RAM and ROM's etc.. but have no idea on what I have to download to get them to work.
I specifically have an interest in getting Williams Stargate for my PC. It was the sequel to their highly successful Defender game. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Reg |
Look up MAME (Mult-arcade machine emulator).

Mame works, but williams sold emulations for popular computers, and home game consoles. For example, here is a link to 'WILLIAMS ARCADE CLASSICS' for PC, with Defender, Defender II, Joust, Robotron, Sini Star, and Bubbles. Here is an example on ebay, currently at $3.

No Stargate here, but you can play Defender, Defender 2 and a whole slew of other games from the 80's. Certainly a page good for hours of wasted (but fun) time! :D

I think Defender II is Stargate?

I believe it is Alan. Thanks for the link Randy!
I am going to buy a copy of the PC game somewhere. I'd buy it new if it was a current title and available in stores. |

That link is great. The game in my rec room would be best , but the shockwave version is very good. Man , are my reflexes off!!!!
