I have turbo-itis

Ever since I finished the 930 engine swap into my '75 911S, my nice '88 Carrera sits in the garage. It looks at me sadly as I walk past it to the "beater" '75 with the bad paint but the great engine.

I think I have turbocharger addiction.

Lately, I've started to think seriously about selling the '88 and picking up a Lancer Evo. Why? It has a turbo. Oh, and I also just had a son and could use four doors all of a sudden. But the four door thing is just justification. I want the turbo.

So do I abandon my NA 3.2? It's served me well for seven years. Is the 930 engine obsession just a passing fad?

Is there a doctor in the house?

Not only can I not afford a Cayenne Turbo, but if I could, I still wouldn't buy one!

But we are actually ordering a VW Toureg to haul the kid around. My wife "wants to be up high - it's safer." It and the X5 were the only SUVs that I could even drive without cringing and hiding my face.

Now, is there a Turbo kit for the VW?

Well, if you must apply VW emblems on a Cayenne Turbo to quell your embarassment, so be it.

After all, a Toureg = Cayenne in different clothing.

I'd rather suffer in a Cayenne than drive a Mitsubishi, but that's just me. In my opinion, no street car is going to match the 75 911S turbo. Just throw a bunch of bucks at der Porsche, drive a "fred" car the rest of the week, and you can appreciate the turbo even more. 400HP would do your S nicely.

I do feel your pain. I long for positive pressure almost every day. Maybe some day...

If you are going to go the four door turbo, go with the wrx, the lancer is just not right looking.
