My triplet sister had a ruptured colon last week and was flown to Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Texas, so far, she is on life support, ventilator, dialsyis, IV drip, etc. She has been opened up three times to repair her colon. Tonight, they removed her colon, (she's 49 years old) so she'll be on "bag" the rest of her life, if she lives. While the doctors seem to be competent, I don't know. Does anyone know about the quality of this hospital. It seems to be good, but not being in the profession, what do I know?
Thanks in advance.

It appears to be affiliated with the Texas Tech med school. In general, that is a good sign...teaching hospitals tend to be on the ball with things. I know that if I have anything bad happen to me I want to head to USC's hospitals. And if you have a GSW, there is no better place in LA that County-USC. In fact, before Iraq the military sent their docs there to brush up on trauma work.

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it very much. BTW, she seems to be in proving albeit slowly.
