may be a bit late to jump in here: but my attitude used to be, why worry about money, what if i die tomorrow? i dont have kids, not married, but i thought: crap what if i dont die tomorrow? i want to minimize my impact/burden on others so i will try to cover my @$$. i started my 401k, changed into my pension plan at work, and bought a house instead of renting. My real estate agent once told me, "i have to pay myself first." i dont know, it maked sense to me.

zeke's attitude works for him, i would freak.

I have a house. Equity currently over $250,000. In the beginning, I mentioned "equity in material things." Houses are material. Good job on your house purchase, unfixed. I hear single men with houses are prime choice for the womenfolk. And a Porsche in the garage. How long is the line at the door?

my line is very short, my gfriend moved in with me. bittersweet! but thanks anyway zeke. did you ever find a loaner crowsfoot?

Zeke, I do not live like you, but I know a woman who does. She is a little over fifty, divorced, and owns nothing. She does not work anymore, and lives by friends. It takes a special spiritual attitude to do that, She has an immense faith and beleives in the universal law of supply. This means that, according to her, the universe will always provide whatever she needs. In reality, it means that other people provide her what she needs. But she is such a sweetheart that her presence enriches other`s people lifes, and brings them more than they give. I a sense, I admire that. Living in the present with no fear of the future. This has a lot to do with enlightment. Not everyone is capable of that.

I think she borders on being a parasite. No offense to her, just the arrangement. And if she is sweet, more power to her. I'll tell you this: If I were to depend on my ability to get along with others in exchange for a handout, as well as just depend on others, I'd starve to death. I swing a hammer every day in exchange for a morsel of gratitude and a few bucks. No paid vacations, holidays, sick days or what do they call them now, personal days? Swing the ax or not, nobody gives a damn. Boy, I dunno if I have any spiritual attitude. Prolly not.

Milt, you need to find a higher power somewhere. Obviously you are not driving your 914 fast enough at the track...

As for me, it is in music and the ocean. And medication. Plenty of medication.
