It's funny, I never read CNN's site but I happened to see that today because I was looking for earthquake news. $9 million on lawyers so far?? WTF are they doing for that kind of $$?? Secretly transfering her entire business to Switzerland or Austria?

Truthfully, when all this first came out, I was eladed!

I have no problems with someone doing something and making money for themselves.

I have no problems with a lady who made an empire out of the home decorating concept.

I DO have a problem when a rich snob tells me that the best way to entertain at my parties is to hand make petitfors, and hang old rolling pins on my wall, and how to line my rose garden with antique bricks. And then actually PRETEND that she does all the labor by herself, when a. there's no dirt under her fingernails, and b. she's got them migrant workers working for her for !.25 an hour!

My wife's a florist, and I have grown to appreciate home decorating. However, Martha's stuff is way over the top! The people that Martha 'caters' to (pun intended) would never do that work themselves! And those who do their own cooking/decorating in their less than $3,000,000 homes cannot afford the time or the $$ for her 'creations.'

Ok, I'll stop ranting now. I feel much, much better.

I feel Martha's pain. I really do. Maybe she can spend her Holidays out at Ophra's little 50M $ place in Monceito, CA. That might help her forget her woes. Just think of the delightful conversations they could have about investing money. That is in between discussing the best way to fold napkins and drinking some wine. BUT, this country loves to see "how the other half lives". me i will not have a different bed for each season, like martha. personally i dont watch anything martha does, and i hate lemon squares. i think her estranged daughter is hot! that is about it. but holy crap, that woman is rich! ironically, she made a multimillion $ deal with Kmart. i bet she has never been in a kmart, much less her friends. but she got alot of people to buy into it, and made a decent living. i dont think she is telling us how to entertain is she? just like puck and legasse isnt telling us how to cook. we cant even buy some of the ingredients. we just want to see how the other side lives. friggen fantasy.

Well, Martha wrote her daughter back - not a letter - no - she sent the letter that her daughter wrote back to her daughter, denoting the daughter's grammatical and spelling errors. I even think she told her daughter to rewrite the letter and send it again.
