White knuckle journey!

"Bridge to engine room: pucker-factor nine!"

We're having a pretty good storm, and I was driving home - in my VW bus. I don't know what the wind speeds are, but this poor beast was flat out @ 45mph. I was going over a bridge, and a gust of wind pushed me all the way from the right lane, across 2 lanes, and almost smacked me into the barrier - I missed it by inches! The wind just pushed me across the freeway like a pile of chips on a craps table.

I'd love to recount what studly car-control skills I excerised, but in all honesty, I was just along for the ride.

Luckily traffic was sparse, and I was able to get back over to the slow lane where I belong without much more drama.

Ok, time to un-thaw and change underwear. I think I'll have to burn this pair...

It's been pretty crazy here all day too. I've been home all day and the cable was out most of it, so I hung around here.

It's supose to be sunny tomorrow, just in time for me to return to work

Crikey, that must have been the same gust of wind we got over here. A woman at work was driving along a hill road and a gust of wind picked her car up, turned it around and dumped it on the other side of the road, LOL, scarry stuff.

Whoa Thom, glad you're ok.
The Causeway was crazy yesterday. We were going over to Costco (our big outing for the day - are we exciting or what?) in our '91 Jeep. Highway speeds were down to 35mph. We had 55mph wind gusts and I don't think it stopped for even one minute all day. It's calmer out today, though.
