friggin State of California

I got on the internet today to order some cigars and after placing the order I got a call from the company saying that they couldn't ship them to me because my CA drivers license info didn't match up exactly with the deliver to address. It turns out now in CA that when you buy tobacco products on the internet that the seller is supposed to check with the DMV and also tell the state tax board so that they can make sure that I pay Rob Reiner's tobacco sales tax when I do my state tax return. Friggin government, I want them out of my life, all I am to them is a revenue stream for funding their social programs. BTW, heres the link to a pretty good deal on cigars and a nice humidor

c'mon, your not a revenue stream for funding their social programs .. . your a revenue stream for funding what they skim off their social programs!

It is sad; businesses keep getting smarter & leaner with their money, while governments keep getting fatter and dumber with our money.

Personally I'm a huge fan of JR's...actually going to the one in Whippany, NJ with a buddy tonight, see here in Jersey we still get to smoke and eat indoors in the same place....

They have a gorgeous bar, single malts, a two story humidor that's about the size of a football field right next to where you eat, smoke and get merry!!!

Man I'm psyched just 35 minutes till the whistle blows....

Not crazy about Thompson. Cigars sometimes seem like seconds. JR is better IMHO.

Bad Cigars...So ole CA is putting the squeze on Cigars smokers by trying to collect the Tobbacco tax on internet sales. MY OH MY what could possibly be coming next in the Peoples Repblic? I have enjoyed my fair share of those foul smelling Brown Phallic symbols.

Tobbacco prices here in NV aren't cheap either but they are a little better than CA...but I found the Paiute Indian Reservation which is about 5 miles N of me. NO STATE SALES TAX..HEHEHEHEHE....They have a very nice Dominican CoHiba 2nd, (7" x 45 ringsize) for $1.25. They come in Bundles of 25. Best Cigar I've had for the price. Now I've smoked Cuban R&J Churchills, Cuban Partagas Churchills, Cuban Cohiba and MonteCristos before...The absolute BEST cigar I have ever smoked was the Partagas 150 A's...Churchill size wt 20 year old Cameroon wrapers.

I am into the Onyx Reserves right now. Good wrapper, even burn, easy draw. So far my fave for the cash. Partaga's I heard are nice as well. I have one but have not smoked it as of yet. Think I will do that this weekend.

JR all the way. I've been buying from Lew for 15 years. I haven't bought a cigar in a store in CA in about that long, no way I'm paying that much. Bought cigars at JR in Manhatten though. Nice not to get gouged.

Best cuban ever for me: Hoyo de Monterey Double Corona, about 6 years ago. I could have quit and remained satisfied for life.

But I didn't.

I second the Hoyo...love that cigar...

If you go in the downstairs at tje JRs in NYC they have an old bank vault with the huge allotment of pre-castro cubans that Lew bought...those are cool....

YES!! I saw them and drooled for about 1 hr. They weren't that spendy as far as I recall. Definate kid in a candy store mode.

Time to fire up a health stick! I've got Remedios and Mayorgas lined up for today.
