2800 lbs. 850 HP. 248 MPH It's a Chrysler.

If you can find the pics of the interior and engine bay, this is amazing. Mid engine Four turbos. Chrysler insists it is not a concept car. It will be in production this summer. Designed to blow the doors off the Ford supercar.

Definitely interesting. Detroit has some fairly nice vehicles coming out. I like the Chrysler (?) Solstice.

Other favorites:
Corvette C6
The little Cadillac with the Corvette engine
Mustang
The new Nomad (very sweet)
The new Chrysler Hemi four-door sedan.

Wow, looks cool. Although, it does seem to take it's fair share of design ques from the Carrera GT.

Too bad the CGT looks like a Toyota MR2 Spyder.

I'd still rather have the GT-40... Even if this one is TWICE as fast...

The GT-40 is definitely wood-inducing.

yeah, the (visual) thing that kills that car is the sudden "stop" the roof line takes with the rear vertical roll hoops. Although, it is kinda hard to find anything wrong with this "angle":

The GT-40 is nice, but I would rather have one of these over any of the aforementioned cars:

Ugly and overdrawn -- like some slot-track car scaled up. I'd opt for the GT40.

Two angular for me. However nicer than the geometric, Pontiac Aztec inspired GT-90 concept. Glad that didn't make it into the pipeline.

BTW, I'm surprised that all we have is a computer rendering of a car that is so close to release.

And it's also ugly as sin.

It certainly won't be in production this summer. DCX themselves state that they have not yet formulated any business case for the ME 412, but that development work is far enough along that a running prototype may be available to the press by the summer.

At the Detroit show they've claimed that the only thought they've given to pricing is "somewhere between the GT (140 to 150K) and the Enzo (listing at 650, but actually selling for much more currently). So, guess maybe $400K?

At this fantasy land level where cars are baubles, I would think it would be a tough sell (regardless of its stupendous performance) at that price level to sell a car with a nameplate better known for the Town & Country and Pacifica.

Not especially attractive, but not any uglier than an Enzo or SLR, IMHO. I thought it looked best in straight side profile:

The CF work is pretty spectacular:

The interior (apparently with design assistance from Wurlitzer) is not the strong suit, IMO. Those wacky Germans seem convinced that Mopar interior styling reached its apogee with the '58 Plymouth Fury, and have been trying to replicate it ever since the takeover, errr,... I mean "merger".

Final engine bay shot:

Still seems to me to be a lot of auto show/concept/look what we can build/smoke and mirrors stuff at this point, unlike the soon in the dealership, real, live production Ford GT.

Tim,
Thanks for the additional info. I agree, it's obviously in the very early concept stage. If it does make it to the showroom floor the specs and look will most likely be unrecognizable.
