Evidence - too many attorneys (hahaha)
Just in case you need more evidence that there are too many attorneys in the world -
I bought a new Chevy Suburban this weekend that will become my primary tow vehicle for the race car and trailer. Really the first American car I've ever bought. No kidding - the owners manual has 55 pages on how to wear seat belts! |
nice purchase! is it still called the suburban? tahoeXL right?
oh yea, i like page 33 of the seat belt instructions, the part that tells you to listen for the "click". |
Suburban is Chevy and Tahoe XL is GMC. They used to both be Suburbans though.
55 pages ?!? no way.....lol |
Chevy must sell most of their vehicles to brain surgeons that never learned to drive. This is an exact quote from the manual section on the operations of the automatic transmission:
"DRIVE (D): This position is for normal driving. If you need more power for passing, and you're going less than about 35 mph, push the accelerator pedal about halfway down. If you're going about 35 mph or more, push the accelerator all the way down." Rick, The Suburban and Tahoe are both Chevy's, the Suburban is a couple of feet longer than the Tahoe and comes (in my case) with a big block 8.1 engine. The GMC equivilant is the Yukon. |
OH...oops...is it the Yukon XL then?
|
8.1!!! holy crap, what kinda gas mileage are you looking at?
that thing can tow a house! |
It's the Suburban LT with 12,000 lbs towing capacity so I can tow one of these (when my wife OK's it). So far about 9 mpg without a tow..... yeah I know I'm a pig blah, blah, blah...

Mark will your gas engine truck really be able to tow that stacker trailer? Nice trailer it's the kind that would flog a 5 speed intercooled turbo charged Diesel pick up.
|
Marc, Oh yeah I'm still with Emorys.
Ted, the stacker is aluminum and weighs 6,000 lbs empty and the cars are 1,700 lbs each. So, I should be fine. Don't know for sure if I'm going to do it, waiting to see how serious my wife gets about her racing. edit - here is the company that builds them - really nice stuff http://www.aluminumtrailer.com/ |
Mark thanks for the link, nice equipment for sure.
