Reasons why you dont buy a bastard 911 from a attorney

As some of you on the board know i almost bought a bastard porsche, but as luck would have it the deal fell apart. Got my deposits after chargebacks after the seller" swore" that any court would see his side. I guess he didnt like the fact that my credit card company disagreed with him. Well i gave him neg feedback as i felt others should know how this guy sells. so he negs me back too but states some lies. (FenderGuy10 ebay handle if you car to see the feedbacks). My fist neg too oh well...anyways i get this in my email about the feedback"
your positioning is poor, yes the car came out of the shop but they had the wrong seal and it had to be redone...Your comments of fraud are libelous and I intend
to use what ever means possible to correct this situation and what you are doing to my reputation. As an attorney I will be willing to spend my time and dollars using all means possible for retribution. The deal did go south and I was NOT
aware of the problems we found TOGETHER and tried to take care of them...even at a loss to me on the deal, a loss from my purchase price with the repairs of over 2000.00. Your actions were and are unfair and I expect you to withdraw your negatives or risk action. PLEASE do note, as you have had from your questions to others, that you bought the car at close of auction (it was yours at that time)...it was sold "without faults" but being the professional and gentleman that I am I did say I would take care of the problems"... there are so many lies in that email to begin with, i was told he was spending $3500 when i spoke to him, blah blah anyways this so called "attorney" seems to be threating me with legal action which i found humors, but at the same time him being from california i wouldnt doubt he would press foward. Do all attorneys feel they have the right to seek legal action ifthe truth hurts?

I'm sorry to hear you're going through this.

But, in your initial post about this Chevy-powered 911, didn't you say that the seller was a buddy of yours??

Is this the same guy who's threatening legal action? Some friend!

There are a number of attorneys on this board. I think you will find that most are quite helpful.

I think Fender was using the friend story so we wouldn't know he was buying the 911. While we are on the subject, reading your post and previous ones Fender, it seems to me you won the bid and then tried to back out even though the guy had fixed all the problems on the car. Am I just misunderstanding things? Your posts are really hard to understand.

I can't tell where the email ends and the commentary resumes.......but, between the two of them, communication seems to be feeble.

It sucks that you had a bad ebay transaction but seriously, this was way more information than I needed about feedback bickering. If you don't want bad feedback, don't leave any for bad sellers, ebay just works like that. Edit: this guy has 25 neg feedbacks, if that wasn't a red flag on his car...

As for libel... I think that's a bit of a stretch, he might be able to have ebay remove your comments because they mostly name calling, etc but ebay does have written guidelines on what can be removed. You on the other hand, cannot remove his feedback as far as I can see.

"Follow-up by fenderguy10: Total lair emailed car was out of shop, unethical seller and liar, total fraud, "

I really don't think he's an attorney, look at what he buys/sells, 8.00 watches and 2.00 earings, and lots of them. Fear him, fear him good.

As a long time ebay buyer/seller...I have seen everything from people installing memory with the computer on and wanting refund to a guy who said he was going to sue after not receiving an item that was clearly indicated as NOT INCLUDED! I have even had to call people in the middle on the night and/or talk to there parents to get my money. Its a crazy world out there!

you guys are funny no i dont think he would waste his time pursing this matter...it was just a thought on how some attorneys abuse the laws...the car was told me to by a buddy of mine that was interested in the car, after he didnt want it anymore. I bid and won the car(regardless of what members told me on this forum) i did good i give him 2 deposits...finale payment to be made when i picked up the car, well that were it goes to hell... after wasting $350 on a trip to the orange country area...the car developed a trans leak, the engine smoked because of the carb and other items had be saying no...even after all this the seller agreed in writing to fix the items and bear all costs or else the deal would be canceled....well after a month of same old bs...i called the deal off...he failed to meet his own deadlines....got my deposits one by chargeback.....what have i learned from this? there is no way in hell i would buy a bastard, its the real thing or nothing. i felt ge deserved neg feedback for this, in turn i got neg which i guess is what i get for trying to warn people.

This is funny, the negative feedback will give you that im a real person also, I wouldnt worry about it, if this guy has 25 negative feedbacks, hes stupid, by the rules of ebay all you have to do is send a letter from an attorney and they will remove it, if i was an attorney i would have already sent the letters, dont worry about it, remind him of enternet fraud, the cops are busting people everywhere for it, i read about it everyday in our local paper, Kevin

Thanks for the heads up to everyone. Now I'll never be able to sell my car.

Yes, but only attorneys who can't make any real money pursuing real claims would quivial over such an ebay transaction.

What a pile of dribble for a technical board. Maybe this should be moved to the OT whine board. Just my thoughts

Paul, I'll be glad to buy your car from you. Say, on a 2000 month payment program? I'm sure I could affort as long as the interest rate is low

I must say Fender... it is challenging to read your posts and get a good read on what exactly happened here. It sounds as though the seller was stating information that he 'thought' to be correct in the auction, and then found out otherwise. It also seems he was not only willing, but actually fixed the problems for you at his loss. What is wrong with that? Perhaps he was being dishonest initially, but he seems to have stepped up in the end.

That's what I seemed to have read in his quoted email???

Ok, yes I am an attorney too. I don't follow what exactly happened here in this transaction. If you want to let me know, I will be glad to answer some questions the best that I can. I am in NC not California, however the legal systems are similar. A lot of attorneys just bluster about using the courts to further their selfish goals, however, seldom do they have the actual intent of doing so. I am not sure about how much money you are quibbling over, unless it is a pretty substantial amount, I wouldn't worry if I were you. Since you are out of state, he would need to file suit against you in Federal Court, not his local court. This is huge disincentive. From what I can gather from the bits and pieces that I picked up on, I would seriously doubt he would have a claim. To prevail on a liable claim, he would have to show that you impacted his economic interests or ability to make income. Certianly you did nothing to effect his legal practice (or lack thereof) and with so many negative comments, I would feel confident that you did not seriously harm his ability to derrive some income from sales of his car. It doesn't sound like you should loose any sleep over this.

Man, now you made me sound like a lawyer. I hate that.
