I wresteld with reality for 35 years and I am happy to say I finially won. I was down at 18th and Fairfax leaning up against a lampost when a fella said, "You can be either oh so smart or oh so pleasant in life." it was right there and then that I decided it was best to be smart.

Pleasant will get you a hell of a lot further. I work with plenty of smart A-holes that get stuck in a corner because nobody wants anything to do with them. Doesn't genius & insanity go hand in hand? I'll stick with pleasant & decent, our overcrowded penal system is full of "smart" people.

Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, "In this world, Elwood, you must be" -- she always called me Elwood -- "In this world, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant." Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. And you may quote me.

Weather has really bin outstanding here in the desert. Before Xmas we had 3 inchs of snow one night which was gone by noon.

My dad used to say, "Hungry? Cold? ***** in your hat and pull it down over your ears." :)
