where's all our tax dollars going?
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=568&e=3&u=/nm/20040203/bs_nm/budget_dc
"The White House still expects the budget shortfall to total $1.35 trillion through 2009 and government debt to rise from $8.1 trillion to $10.5 trillion, prompting warnings from Democrats that chronic deficits would crowd out private investment, drive up interest rates and slow economic growth. "We went through a recession, we were attacked and we're fighting a war. These are high hurdles for a budget and for a country to overcome and yet we've overcome them," Bush said of his budget, which would cut funding for about half of the 15 Cabinet-level agencies. " 2009???? when i hear stuuf like that, it makes me laugh. They can't even predict the next 3 months, nevermind the next 5 years. Sometimes I think our government is dangerous and out of control.... ![]() Last edited by on-ramp; 02-02-2004 at 07:31 PM.. |

Looks like pretty soon, all our tax dollars will be going into interest payments to the banks that loan money to the government...I`d rather buy a second house, personally.

Second House? Things are really bad, eh. As long as I don't look out the window and see an airliner filled with screaming people and jet fuel crashing into my building, and as long as I can watch the chaos and mayhem occuring 1/2 a world away instead of see it on my street, there is no deficit.
