Pelican Parts Car Badge Query

DavidI posted this:

"Wayne or some of you Pelicanheads, how about making a Pelican badge or something to put on the decklid? I'm in..."

I thought that would be a great idea. Has anyone asked this before? Wayne, would you be interested in selling these? I know the startup cost would be significant, but if you had enough interest (preorders), I'm sure there would be enough interest here... What do you think?

The license plate frame may be a better idea as many don't have an appropriate decklid for a badge. But then again you can always use the stickers that come with any order.

Personally, as much as I want to show I'm part of this community, I don't want a picture of a Pelican on my car....No offense. Unless there's a Pelican that looks like that German Eagle.

By decklid, I assume you mean a removeable badge that you can attach to the grill. Just like the old circular badges that used to be poplular among sportscar enthusiasts in the sixties. Now that would be nice.

Kind of like this:

I've only seen shiny or bright colored badges. IMO those badges would not look great on a black SC grill. Would making it a dark color be the best all around design?

I'm all for it, beers to whoever came up with this idea. More beers to the person that acutally finds a way they can be made.

There are lots of people that make custom frames at relatively low cost. Especially if it's just text. What elements would be desirable on the frame? Porsche script, Pelican pic, User ID, etc??

BTW, I'd be happy to cast a prototype badge for fun.

I'm definitely interested in a Pelican "identifier" on my car. While I am cautious to adorn my lovely 911 with trinkets, if something that was adequately classy could be put together, I'd be likely to put money down for one. I'm sure it'd catch on, too. Now, if I was the enterprising type, I'd go out and make one, then sell them to Wayne&Co. so that I could make a billion dollars and further my collection of Porsches.

I'd like to see the junior banker you con with those estimated sales figures.
