This time I touched it...

Today I received a full tour of the Warner Bros. archive from the manager of the archives. The most serious car-related hardware there are the Batmobiles, the latest of which is full functioning and even has On Star and Recaro seats. I even touched the machine - it doesn't feel like fiberglass - maybe it's carbon fiber - I don't know. Additionally, they have the Bat Bike and a rocket car; the motorcycles from "Torque" and all the Matrix props, which were huge and very Geiger-like (I think Geiger (sp?) designed them - he did the alien in "Alien").

Saw one of the decapitated heads from "The Last Samurai," the full-sized monsters from the new Scooby-Doo movie, and Schwarzenneger's "Mr. Freeze" outfits as well as Michelle Pheifer's "Catwoman" suit.

There were tons of sheet music and original scripts from movies dating back to the Golden Age of Cinema. I saw original sheet music from "Casablanca," as well as a slew of Harry Potter stuff and motorized old-style bicycle props from the Will Smith version of "Wild Wild West."

By far, one of the most interesting items were the puppets from "Gremlins." The aparatus to operate them (pre CGI) are hsopital fluid-like stands with wiring that attaches to the puppets. Saw clay heads from Jim Carey's defunct "Mr. Limpett," and machine gun props from "Band of Brothers."

Thinking of you guys, I asked the manager about those interested in donating Porsches, and he said, "If the car has historical cinema value, we'll take it!" Well, maybe we should build a movie around a possessed 911 or something.

Super cool stuff to say the least. Of course, no photos were allowed - sorry. In all, seeing this is just one of those strange industry perks, I guess.
