Is this an awesome photo or what? Road America 1967, I think. Looks like a clear plexiglass hood scoop on the Camaro pace car .....

Looks more like the famous Bruce and Denny show to me in that photo above taken by the great Pete Lyons.

Still kind of startling to see Thunder Valley @ RA as it looked back then in its more natural state, pre-Armco and concrete barriers that have been in place through that stretch for years now. Undoubtedly safer, but certainly something of the aesthetic has been lost since 1967 in that great (and challenging) piece of track.

That would be Jim Hall in his Chaparral 2G. Photo below is from '68, very similar to '67 but with unfortunate added on rear flares.

It might have been chevy powered with an automatic, I think the wing was driver adjustable to be used as an air brake. Later I think it was left in a fixed position. Early aero packages.

If that interests you should see his vacume car. Or the Shadow go cart, "a canary with antlers". The Ti car was cool too. It all leads us to some of the most awesome Porsches raced, 917-10 and the 917-30. Please post some more Can Am photos.
