The future of the C-GT's V-10...
So what do you guys think porsche going to do with a V-10 in the future? besides the C-GT of course. Formula One uses a V-10 NA just like the C-GT but last i knew F1 cars were limited to 3.0 liters. Now im not sure about the financial situation of porsche but going back to porsche sponsered racing (like the GT1) might be a good thing, since supercars seem to be poping up every where. Personally i would highly enjoy a 24 hour Le Mans featuring a Ferrrari Enzo, Lambo Merciallgo (you try spelling it!), both Chrysler's and Bugatti's quad turbo's and of course a C-GT.

They really should put that engine in a one-off, publicity-stunt Cayenne, kinda like BMW's X5 LM-Edition, which had the McLaren F1's V12.
I was wondering that too. I saw a Taureg with a V-10...no clue if is a porsche engine or not...just made me wonder
The Touareg's V10 is a diesel, but I think it's a 300bhp diesel!
Actually i think its a W-10, not a V-10....maybe im thinking W-8....one of there engines is a W put it that way.
could be, just wasn't aware of any V or W 10's in the VW line until I saw that one at a car show
The V10 diesel is available in the Touareg and the Phateon sedan - both have 313bhp and 553ft lb of torque!
The W12 is available in the Phateon only - it is like two compact V6s side by side. 420hp for this, apparently it will do over 200mph. |
Actually, there has been news of Porsche dropping the V10 into a Cayenne. Porsche would not "confirm or deny" the rumor. There is a thread on that with a link to a German website somewhere.
well, the rumor mill states that Porsche will be building a "neo 928" front-engine GT to compete with the Aston DB9 and the Ferrari 456/612. Whereas this will probably get the Cayenne Turbo's V8, I can imagine an uber-version with the V10
