Looked at a great car today. Has anyone used the check on out of state sales, and not been present?

I used it on a local sale (actually me in LA, took the train down to San Diego to buy the car. Worked fine...no worries.

I've used them to finance both 930s. 3 years ago, when I bought the first one, there were all kinds of hoops you had to jump through -- going to a notary with the seller, faxing information, receiving a callback and confirming the details -- it was a hassle (but gave me an excuse to go to Chico, CA and tour NoCal).

The recent purchase was made near Chicago (Chico and Chicago, that's weird...) and I didn't have to be present for that one. They streamlined their procedures, and it was about as simple as it could get.
