Unhappy Ridiculous preseidential campain

Ridiculous is the first word that comes to my mind when I read the news every day about this presidential campain. Nasty, too.

Really, are people so stupid to think that what matters is what Kerry or Bush did during Vietnam, or if they cheat on their wives or not ???? What do they think anyway...that politicians obey high moral standards ?? Gimme a frikkin break here. Over 50% of married men have affairs, so what`s the big deal if the president is like any other man ?

I hear more about those personal details on the candidates than what they plan to do once they get elected. I don`t give a rat`s ass about their past. I`d like to know what foreign policy they want, how they intend to fix social security, how they stand on education, health, what they want to do about deficits and taxes...

Sorrry for the rant, but this presidential campain is reaching new lows every day. Do you guys see it the way I see it ?

Aurel

On that note, I heard that Bush is a folder, while Kerry's a crumpler!

No matter what the government does, it always cost me more.

Anytime they change something, or fix something.

We should just pay the government to stay home and do nothing.

It the long run it would be cheaper.

I'm a crumpler. Tried folding, it seemed less effective. I do occasionally fold when resources are scarce, but only under battle conditions.

I think their background is important, however I think dredging up wether or not Bush served in this month or that month back in 1972 is idiodic, especially after the guy has been President for over 3 years now. If the dems wanna make an issue over the war, deficit, etc. that is stuff with substance and worthy of debate. Getting in a pissing match 30 years after his guard duty is plain childish. More obnoxious yet is the lead story on the nightly news EVERY SINGLE NIGHT that John Kerry won the primary in this state or whatever...its only February for crying out loud. You'd think he's on his way to be elected GOD and CEO of the Universe. The media and the people that suck that stuff up need to get a life...I quit watching it.

Me too...quit watching 'em. Most nights, when "peter", "tom", and "sam" are spewing their propaganda, my TV is off. Oh, the same applies to the local TV folks as well...the "suzy shallow" and "steve stupid" types who are on the local TV shows... The more of them I watched, the more I loved my old stereo...

Me too. I'm a huge fan of gridlock. The less they get done the better. When the President and Congress are at odds with one another, most new legislation is sensible without regard to political affiliation.

Life, liberty and property are not safe as long as Congress is in session.

Yes, but the problem is that they (the liberals) can't really find anything wrong with Mr. Bush, so they are forced to bring up insignificant, 30 year old 'issues' that bear no light on the current fine job our president is doing.

Take that, you dems!

Yup. It's a machine that can't be stopped. Doesn't really matter what party is in there. It's all a freakin' gameshow. Except they're giving away MY money!!!

OUR money, Curt...OUR money...A recent poll of Oregon people revealed that they thought 39 cents of every dollar was being wasted. I agree...only I'd have given a higher percentage to the poll taker...

Aurel,

Yes, it's ridiculous. And what is worse, we have nine more months of the same to endure, and try to glean any bits of information that might be, at least, a little bit true and maybe even pertinent to any real issues.

And in the end, what I think is the saddest, is that we will then have to choose the lesser of two running dog lackeys.

Gen. Giap: Kerry's Group Helped Hanoi Defeat U.S.

Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004 10:25 p.m. EST
Gen. Giap: Kerry's Group Helped Hanoi Defeat U.S.

The North Vietnamese general in charge of the military campaign that finally drove the U.S. out of South Vietnam in 1975 credited a group led by Democratic presidential front-runner John Kerry with helping him achieve victory.

In his 1985 memoir about the war, Gen. Vo Nguyen Giap wrote that if it weren't for organizations like Kerry's Vietnam Veterans Against the War, Hanoi would have surrendered to the U.S. - according to Fox News Channel war historian Oliver North.

That's why, he predicted on Tuesday, the Vietnam War issue "is going to blow up in Kerry's face."

"People are going to remember Gen. Giap saying if it weren't for these guys [Kerry's group], we would have lost," North told radio host Sean Hannity.

"The Vietnam Veterans Against the War encouraged people to desert, encouraged people to mutiny - some used what they wrote to justify fragging officers," noted the former Marine lieutenant colonel, who earned two purple hearts in Vietnam.

"John Kerry has blood of American soldiers on his hands," North said.

Isn't it interesting that political candidates act in ways that we would not accept from our own children?

That's an interesting 'take' on things.

I agree that endlessly harping on his guard service is a waste of all kinds of energy, and not what voters should be focusing on. Plus, like most political bickering on the national stage in an election year, it's insulting to people's intelligence; everyone w/ a brain knows that guard duty during Viet Nam was a gravy deal w/ zero chance of being called up, (unlike now, ironically, when he is sending N.G. members to die in battle), and that he got preferential treatment in being accepted. This is not a BIG NEWS FLASH to me, his whole life has been like this. Born on 3rd base, stealing 2nd.

And as for Oliver North, that blood-soaked, criminal POS has a lot of nerve slandering Kerry for exercising his constitutional right to free speech on a subject that he knew very well. I guess that getting shot while serving your country in uniform doesn't cut it for North, but he is 100% behind the sissy-hawks, as long as they kiss his ass. What a disgraceful scumbag. What did tough-guy ankle-grabber Sean Hannity do during the war?? I don't even want to know. Someone should really knock his sorry ass out.

So today, there was an official denial from the young lady supposed to have had a relation with John Kerry. That should have quieted Sean Hanity down, but now, here is what he says: `This is a plot from the democrats, so that any further accusations will be dismissed too`...Sean Hanity is making himself a true moron. Not that this would be breaking news

I would like to box him for charity, winner take all, the $$ goes to the winner's choice of political organization.

In case you are reading this, Sean, I'm 45 this year, smoked for ~30 years, double discectomy 18 months ago w/ a recurring H.D. and can barely tie my shoes in the AM. I will bet $10k cash that you don't last one 3 minute round. Easy $$ for your cause, no?

Someone please pass this on to him!
