So I guess the key word in "BackFlip Attempt" would be 'attempt'??? What an idiot!

Having riden and raced MX my whole life I am constantly amazed by the mental state of the guys that would attempt this stuff. Your first inclination is they must be high or something, but in reality they usually are not! Do you have any idea the courage it takes to try these things? Sure some of them are brain dead and don't care, but some are otherwise rational people. They must be capable of an almost zen state where thay are able to block inherent human emotion and fear from their minds. A study of their brain activity would be interesting I'll bet.

No kidding!
I will say that some of these guys and gals don't realize what they're getting themselves into, but I think the pros are just that....Professionals. And really good at what they do. I think back at the hokey crap we did as teenagers and it's like banging rocks together compared to what is being routinely performed today.

An accident waiting to happen.

The old saying that it is better to try and fail than to not try at all is not always correct. He had no chance of pulling that all the way around and even if he did, where was he planning on landing? That stunt was doomed from the start. . .

Guy is alive and well...waiting for next attempt.

I have a clip of another one doing complete & parefect snow-cat backflip, i'll try to digh it out from one of my harddrives.
