paypal veterans, verify?
We have a Paypal account here for our business and we buy and sell. Anyway we have reached the $2k purchase maximum allowed without adding a checking account for verification. The account is in my name so they want my checking account. I have a "dummy" account for play money that I could use, but my question is- will they still charge my credit card for purchases or will there by point of sale withdraws made on my checking account? Their site sucks so any help is appreciated, thanks again

Once I put my checking account on the account, they verified me and debited and credited that account. After a few transactions they allowed me to put a credit card on the account and now I have them put the transactions there. I haven't checked to see if I can remove the checking acct now that I'm verified and I'm using a credit card. Perhaps I should.

I used the dummy checking account. That is where Paypal automatically tries to direct you on purchases. I always just click the "pay by other means (or something close to that button) and then used my credit card.

Problem is, when you're verified - they no longer have to be subject to chargebacks that are possible on credit cards - no longer are they held by the rules that Visa / MC have. They're immune to giving back your money in the event of a wrongful charge.
Worse yet, if for some reason someone files a claim against you and demands funds returned they have access to your account - and there is no way to retrieve them if you disagree. Just a warning. rjp
