I think I've seen the show twice. I thought it was one the dumbest shows I've ever seen. Yet, it seems to keep winning awards??????? I don't get it ......

I made the mistake of introducing this show to my wife, some years ago, when we were first dating. It's been a must see ever since. I think she enjoys it for the bawdy talk and the risque situations, and also because the characters are well drawn, fleshed out, and in her case, familiar, as my wife spent many years as a bartender. I admit I liked the show for many of the same reasons, but the last episode tonite more importantly signals the return of Six Feet Under and hopefully a more engaging season of The Sopranos.

cegerer, What's not to get? Four girls get together to spit on the floor, break wind, scratch their balls and critique the opposite sex! Truely, award winning TV!

I'm probably the only guy on this board without either cable or sat dish. I've never seen sex and the city. But later tonight, I hope to enjoy sex and the country.

Mrs. Z has never missed a single episode.
Mr. Z has never watched an entire episode.

Like most pop-culture these days, I just don't "get it".

I watch very little television but I have seen this show. At times it was very funny, but a couple of problems for me:

1) I didn't like 1/2 the cast, Samatha the nympho is really unattractive and not appealing, and the redhead, same thing. WHich leads to the second problem:

2) Lack of versimilitude. I know that it's a comedy, but still one has to believe that someone might just behave the way that these women behave, that an endless parade of guys would want to date them and that they would basically just constantly get banged like a screendoor in a huricane.

Finally someone explained to me that the creator of the show is a gay male, not a woman, and that the women on the show are surrogates for him and his many pals. Suddenly it made a lot more sense, and explained why I was never really comfortable w/ the show.

Not that there's anything wrong with it.

Wrong, I haven't had tv since I moved out of my parents house at 18, and I love it. It was hard on my wife for the first couple of months that we lived together but she's very used to it now. I think the only thing she really misses is the Oscars so she goes to her mothers to watch that. There's something I really don't get.

Agree completely with Speeder. Only reason I watch it is because Curb Your Enthusiasm comes on right afterwards.
An observation: women who like "S&theC" also like SHO's "Queer as Folk". Why women would enjoy graphic gay sex is a mystery to me, but my wife (who is addicted to both shows) says it is because QaF is about "relationships." I have occasionally tried to watch QaF, but the constant and relentless gay sex orgies gets a bit much for me ...

I think I own a TV, but I haven't made time to watch it in so long I've forgotten which corner of my storage unit it's stowed in. Sometimes I feel like I'm really missing out, when all my friends are talking about some grand new show. But then most of the time, I really feel like _they're_ missing out on all the great life that goes on _outside_the_TV_!

My TV just automatically turns on Sex and the City....I guess it likes it??? Anyway I have watched a couple of episodes and they were allright...I suppose. I watched the last episode...my TV told me I had to...Anyway I thought it was boring, nothing special happened, no cars got blown up and there was no shooting or car chases...

My wife loves Sex & City and I must admit the show was tolerable for the most part. She however hates Queer as Folk and I agree.

What got her upset last night on the final show was the portrayal of the Charlotte NC couple as being poor redneck bumpkins. Yeah we live right outside of Charlotte and I can say I haven't seen to many of the types shown on the show last night. Sure we got them but please.

Now I am waiting for Sopranos (looks like this season may be good) and also waiting for Showtime's Dead Like Me to come back.
