Where is your Honda CRV made?

Since I have been thinking of a Honda CRV, it caught my attention when I saw at the just-auto.com web site that these Hondas sold in the US are sourced from 2 places: CRVs sold in western US come from Japan and ones sold in eastern US come from Honda's factory in Swindon, England. Given the quality problems in most English auto factopries, I would want to be sure my CRV came from Japan! But where do they divide the US - at the Mississippi?

You really think it's a british factory problem? I've always chocked up problems in the english cars I've worked on (MGTD's, Austin Healey 3000 and bugeyes) as being more about british engineering than british assembly. Especially when it comes to electronics.....sheesh!

Good point. I guess I was thinking of the quality problems that Ford is having at the Land Rover assembly plant at Solihull - mainly due to industrial relations problems, strikes, resistance to production changes, etc. I think the Rover workers recently went on strike when told they could not smoke on the assembly line, and Ford wants to shift Rover production to the more modern Jaguar plant. British industrial relations were a lot worse in the 1960s and 70s, so its all relative

Just a note,

Honda imports cars assembled in its Swindon plant to the home market.....in Japan.

Quality issues?

As mentionned before the assembly of certain UK cars left and still leaves much to be desired, but they are on a par with most others, certainly no worse here than othe mass market companies, Renault, Peugeot etc and percieved as being better the most US domestic manufacturers, not that we get many US designed and built cars over here.
