Guess our idea of charity is helping someone with an engine drop...

OK I don't want to act like I am Mother Teresa or anything but I manage to do at least two days a year of volunteer work a year. Last year I helped a school organize a Halloween party in Santa Ana, the parents now worry about sending the kids out a night door to door, sad in my opinion. The second day of volunteering I went to Crenshaw for a neighborhood clean up day, worst thing was it was held on the nicest street in Crenshaw, the city council even lived on the f’n street. We painted houses while the families’ just sat and watched, bastards, so I organized a clean up that same day on one of the main blvd. picking up trash instead.
My work will actually let you take 4 hours of a month to volunteer with pay. Sonic what do you do if I may ask?

I give blood regularly (4 times a year, 1 platelet donation a year) and me and the kids due a few beach clean up days a year. Never have a garage sale, just give everything to the local Rescue Mission when they come around.

Tax laws suppress even small charity donations untill someone starts making "livable" wages in the 6-figures.
Since in todays society there is no "good-feeling" morality with helping anyone besides oneself, even a couple-o-tax-dollars incentive would help get the ball rolling.

I don't go on a killing spree everyday. That is my public service.
Although come to think of it, LA might be a lot better off if I did cut down the numbers a bit. Hmmm... Actually we donate to a couple of different charities. As for time...that's funny. Time. I think I remember what that is... |
