John Henry Williams is dead, Hell has a new member.

It would appear that Hell has a new member. That piece of crap died and the world is a happier place. Now maybe someday Ted will be put in his rightful resting place.

From Yahoo---
John Henry Williams, the son of Hall of Famer Ted Williams who pushed to have his father's body frozen, died late Saturday of leukemia in a hospital in Los Angeles, an attorney for Ted Williams' family said. He was 35.
Williams had been battling leukemia for months. In December, he underwent a bone marrow transplant, using a donation from Claudia, his youngest sister.----

Whatever happened between and his dad I'd never wish the kind of death Leukemia dishes out. Especially as the result of a marrow transplant. It is a living hell.

been there seen that.. My brother went through 2 years of hell to get past leukemia, he's fine now but it's not pretty what it does to you. I don't wish that on anyone.

Admittedly I only know what (little) I've read, but I thought that Ted Williams wanted to be frozen(?)

When the pain and suffering get so bad, and there is no hope of recovery, we give up fighting for life and ask death to come and relieve us of the pain and suffering. Death comes to us and with a soothing hand takes away all our pain and worries.

When all this stuff was going down, I tuned in a lot to the radio and the internet. I never heard ANYONE that knew Ted say that he wanted that. In fact, almost all of them said that was the exact thing that Ted feared most. There has been LOTS of talk over the years about cloning truly gifted athletes and freezing the ones that die before it's perfected. Ted was adamant in his wishes.

Later, when Ted's mental capacities diminished, John Henry was milking him for autographs to sell and presented him with a hand written note on scratch paper. IRRC, it was in 2000 or later when this "alledged" agreement was made between Ted, John and the daughter. John had only himself in mind. He was a piece of money-grubbin'-crap, IMHO.

I have a great deal of sympathy for the members above that had personal dealings with this horrible illness. It is not my intention to take from them in any way. I apologize if any ill will was implied.
