i burned my forehead twice last year in the Targa, this year i will wear something... i could comb my hair all to the front and look like Cousin-it, but i doubt that will be practical.

geof33 03-17-2004 01:16 PM

I wear a beanie (black).... compliments the car to have a full Ghetto look. Pulled all the way down to my eyebrows with shades!!! I'm bad!!

Cap in summer, to avoid the sunburn.

Tristen... Sharp words, however true. But, sometimes me thinks we need a thread like this to have some fun. I'm actually suprised it's made it this long without having the moderator hurt... put on it.:D

No $hit what a maroon!! and a total waste of time. BTW I'd rather have a republican tell me what i can't do then a democrate tell me what to do. Yeah yeah I wear a hat and ride a Harley so what who cares!!!http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/...oilet_claw.gif

- slightly overweight
- sporting a “sensible” haircut (with gray or graying hair)
- wearing a baseball cap with the logo of some company I don’t recognize
- wearing a polo shirt
- wearing khaki pants or very often khaki shorts, or blue Levis that are a little too tight.
- wearing “dress-casual” shoes or sandals
- wearing “big” sunglasses

Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Wear whatever makes you comfortable. It is kind of funny to see three or four 911s on the street and all the drivers are doing the same “Soccer Dad Chic” thing, though.

I don’t wear hats, and only wear shorts and sandals when I’m on vacation and it’s 90 degrees out (not very often). Slacks, collared shirt, and nice shoes if I’m driving to or from work, otherwise it’s baggy jeans or cargo pants, sneakers, and a (usually plain) t-shirt. Ray-bans (black, metal frames, lenses that aren’t too big) when it’s really sunny out.

Ferrari drivers are often the most casually dressed. Most of the time I see a Ferrari, it’s when I’m out of the office on a weekday (like going to a dentist appointment). 2:00pm on a Wednesday, Ferrari guy with a tank top, shorts, sandals, and a $20k Rolex, parked crooked across two spots at the 7-11, buying a Slurpee. It’s the “I’m rich, I don’t work, and I just don’t care” look. I actually kind of like it.

Again, as long as you’re comfortable, who cares?

I subscribe to the Keith Richards school of fashion. Mostly made from dead cows and combined with what was on the floor next to the bed in the morning. Don't own a Rolex, mostly don't wear a watch at all. Smoke two packs of cigs a day and say F#*K a lot and play in a blues / rock band. I'm 53, not stuck in any particular year, and been this way all my life. I grew up to be my own childrens worst nightmare, a dad with an attitude. Maybe I'm driving the wrong car. if someone thinks this is midlife crisis, well then it started at about 18.

Posts like this take up valuable space on the board. If we let it perpetuate some idiot, like this guy, will pose a question about cap wearing or, "Do you think my arse looks big in my 911?" and before you know it my technical post about trouble with my suspension has hit the bottom of the pile and slipped off the radar of the enthusiasts that could add value to my life.
Thank you Ho Hum. With that being said here's my favorite hat, and I'm not going to stop wearing it just because some guy says it's not sophisticated!:D

Mama says I'm ugly so I wear a bag over my head.

Fog- Only someone from SF would suggest we trade up our ball-caps for "Tin-Man" hats and thats why I love the left coast so very very much. You rule.

To continue the insanity, I suggest this: Using an old beater 911 as a starting point, transform it into a huge rolling bullfrog and drive it to BurningMan. Better yet, lets convert a couple of cars and we can have bullfrog races out in the desert. Ill bring the Tin-man hat, you bring the bong, lets have us a race!

bigrubberjeep 03-17-2004 07:04 PM

no wonder people look at me funny when I wear my beeny. I must look like the guy that stold it, not the owner

exc911ence 03-17-2004 07:28 PM

Man, if I had a targa this would be my driving hat!

Unfortunately, headliners for coupes are just too expensive to justify such a fashion statement. :p

bob tilton 03-17-2004 08:04 PM

what happened to the good ol' days of pelican when you tuned in to follow the story of a guy buying an early car several states away and then transforming it into a black beauty?

targa911S 03-17-2004 09:47 PM

you're right this is stupid, although I have had a bunch of laughs . Now where's my hat?

Mark Wilson 03-17-2004 10:17 PM

How about a pancake for a bunny hat?

A medium? Are we crossing over? Is John Edwards in the house? Cool...

Now this is just silly:

Geof33,

That picture wasn't me, I don't even have any tattoos and I was in the USN for 9 years! We took that picture while we were "mullet hunting" a few summers ago and I couldn't resiste posting it!
