Instead of a MerCruiser powered plastic boat plastered with Cavallino Rampantes, I always thought the Arno was the ultimate "Ferrari Boat".

Check this out!

I wanted to lower the deductible on the insurance coverage for my cars a few months ago. The insurance company sent me to a body shop to get the cars inspected. So, I was milling around the shop floor when they started the inspection. The profile of a 911 caught the corner of my eye. I whipped my head around, and this is what I saw!!!

The boat belongs to the owner of the body shop. He was not around today, and I was disappointed that I could not quiz him on the project. Really....I am not sure if I should bonk him on the head for ruining a 911....or simply shake his head for a job well done

If I recall, numerous companies (CUV, Scarab, etc) made hulls that used the big honkin' 8 and 9+ liter purpose built Lamborghini V12 marine engines. They've been a big player in Class One powerboat racing.

Another Lambo powered entry...

I recall seeing an offshore race boat in the early 90's at Porschop in Culver City, CA with twin 928 engines. It was pretty sweet but the shop admitted that it was kinda a joke (bang-for-buck wise) compared to a "traditional" marine V8 powerplant. Meaning that the cost was several X as much.
