So I walk in on my cousin making out with some dude (long)

Well, not really my cousin, but we're related from marriage (my uncle married her aunt) so i just call her that.

My uncle went to Iran with the wife and kids on tuesday and we have access to his empty house for the next 2 weeks.

So I hit up my buddy and meet up with him and his friend at Habibi's Cafe in Westwood. We chill and smoke some hooka and have a water. Around 2:00 a.m. we all bounce and go our seperate ways. My cousin had called me earlier in the day and told me the trashcans were out in front and that if I swung by the house to put them back. So I'm on my way home from Habibi's and decide to swing by my uncle's place to put the cans back and maybe tidy up the place for a party we might be throwing tomorrow night (or tonight actually). I roll up to the house and see her 3-series in the driveway and a silver galant in the street. Her cars interior lights were on and it was unlocked which I found odd. So I put the cans back on the side of the house and I hear some music coming from the living room. Upon further investigation "love song" by 311 is BLASTING on the stereo and all the blinds are shut and the light is really low. I walk into the backyard to see if I can get a better view of what's going on inside and still don't see ****.

Here comes the action. I decide to just walk in through the front door and see WTF is going on. So I open the door quietly and walk in the house, music is LOUD AS ****. I slam the door and immediately walk into the corridor overlooking the living room and low and behold there's my cousin with her top off going at it with some dude I've never seen before. They spot me immediately and she pushes him off her and grabs her top and walks behind a column seperating the kitchen and living room and puts her top back on. At this point I just bust out laughing and the dialogue goes like this:

me: "bwhaahhahahahah, oh my ****ing god this is hilarious"
her: "**** you amir, **** YOU. I hate you, I really do"
me: "I was just putting the trashcans away"
her: "**** you, you goddamn liar"

then the dude decides to introduce himself, I don't remember his name, but he says "hey, nice to meet you, i'm blah blah blah. happy new year (iranian new year was on March 20)" I say "the pleasure is CLEARLY all mine" with an evil grin on my face and go wash my hands cuz they had crud on them from the trashcans. I walk back out and get the MINI and am about to pull away and she runs outta the house and is just pacing back and forth blurting out random **** like "i don't think you realize how big of a deal this is, blah blah blah" and i tell her I don't give a **** (which I really don't, it's not like she's my sister) and then I casually mention "by the way, your lights are on and your cars unlocked, just throught i'd let you know" and she just looks at her car, back at me, back at the car, and says "****, **** you amir" and I just back outta the driveway and yell "lock the ****ing door to the house when you're inside too" and bone out.

I'd say I handled the situation pretty well, I could've prolly hit this kid pretty hard across the face and knocked his ass out when he reached to shake my hand but decided a physical confrontation wasn't necessary and that it wasn't the right time or place for such a thing to occur. On top of that, she's a big girl, senior in high school and can handle herself and hooking up with guys so I just boned out.

Well...its not your place to hit him. It's not like shes your gf. Let her do who she wants, youre not her dad. :-p

She's over 18 I hope. Otherwise you witnessed a crime. This can be deep *****, my friend. The guy could do 10 to 20 and it happens all the time. You'll be the first the police interview. If you lie, you will join the 'dude' in the slammer.

How do I know this? My wife did 3 years at a child abuse agency until she couldn't stand it anymore. She spent a considerable amount of time in court as a chaperone for plantiffs watching the boys go down one by one.

One more reason to keep your pants zipped until marriage...too bad we males can rarely turn it down :(

i don't see what the big deal is... i had girls' tops off when I was 15. She's a teenage girl - teenage girls fool around with teenage guys.

He said they were going at it. And she pushed him off from on top of her. Does that not mean what I took it to mean? If they were having sex, and she decides someday this guy is a creep, it's game over. Do not pass go. He goes to jail big time. If he happened to be 18 and she's not, her kids will be grown before he gets out. It's something to think about. I didn't say it was fair or right. I said the LA County Courts incarcerate boys and men alike on a regualar basis.

There some really strict laws woking here. Every teacher, counseler, pschologist, doctor, police officer, social worker and more are sworn to be mandated reporters of incidents involving underage sex. And if they don't, they face prison time themselves. It just takes one word from one person's mouth in any time frame for years to come for this to be prosecuted. Don't take my word on this, ask someone.

You don't even have to touch someone to have statutory rape charges filed against you. If you don't belive that, go stand outside a school fence for 20 minutes and talk to some young girls. I'll send you a post card at your new home.

Yea, but that doesn't matter because as an underage girl she is in the eyes of the law not "of the mind" to be able to make a decision like that (in fact her reaction kind of exemplifies this point). By definition, the penetration of ANY part of an underage girl's body by the male member is statutory rape. It doesn't matter whether she was letting him do with her, or even if she wanted it - it's statutory rape. I think you need to have a very serious talk with her or her parents about this.

Granted we all were in situations like this while in high school and what-not, but still - you by definition witnessed a criminal act. If you want to file with the D.A., you could.

Interesting, age of consent is 16 here (barrier between crossing over from being a minor). That's for girls. For boys it actually doesn't exist.

Drinking age was lowered from 20 to 18 a few years ago too.

Personally I don't agree with either, but there isn't a lot I can do about it.

I work with several 17 and 18 year-old guys and gals, and almost all are sexually active. Law or not, didn't we all have sex as teens?

I get your point. But, no, some of us guys pushing 60 lived in a different world. Most did not have sex as teens. Certainly not early teens.

I guess there are pros and cons. There were few STD's even through the 70's and unprotected sex was the norm. On the other hand, sex was not as common as as having a date. You actually had to work a little. Believe it or not, some romantic overtures were needed to get some. Seems like today it's all, "Want to take in a movie and f**k?"

There are a few men here that still open doors for ladies. I don't know what that has to do with all this, but understand that there are different ways of thinking. When you have a grand daughter as I do and you think of her boinking every dude she goes out with, it kinda raises your dander.

Amir's cousin, niece, can do whatever what she wants. I'm sorry for all this rant. But my grand daughter is not going to behave like her if I have anything to do or say about it. I'm not perfect and made my mistakes. I see mistakes in this situation. Some could have serious ramifications. That's all I intended from the beginning.

i really don't think much has changed over 50 years or so... the girls I dated very rarely would sleep with a guy any earlier than after a few weeks of dating... there are the sloots of course, but I think sloots always existed, right? Besides, hasn't the normal age of virginity loss pretty much always been 17?

Zeke, I don't know what to make of your replies. From the first one you seem like a NARC or cop who's out to get me in trouble and from the last one it seems like you're an old man. I understand you wanting to make the law clear to me, but I'd like to inform you that I know statutory rape laws, because my friend got caught having sex wit his girlfriend who was a minor when he was 19 and he spent an over-nighter in jail and had to drop 10 grand in lawyer/bondsman fees......didn't serve any time though. Furthermore, I'm surprised you'd think I'd post something like this on a public message board where everything is recorded and backed up if it could cause me any legal problems. Let me make it clear once again, she is 18 years of age, the age of consent in the state of CA.

For the record, I had sex before I was 18 and it wasn't a "hey, lets go to a movie and ****". I don't see what the problem is as long as both parties are within at the very most two years of each other. That's not to say a 16 year old should be having sex with a 14 year old, but I don't see a problem with a 16 and 18 or 16 and 17 year old. It is very possible to still be a gentleman, I still open doors for women and always let them go through first.

Zeke, I'm going to tell you right now, I'm 19 years old and your grand-daughter is and will do whatever she wants, including experimenting with drugs and sex regardless of what you or her parents say about it. Her upbringing will determine whether she just chalks it up to an experimentation or takes it further. There is no substitute for good parenting and that is the most important part of the equation when it comes to dealing with adolescents going through puberty. All the kids in my school who had f'ed up parents that could give a crap about who they were hanging out with and not setting a reasonable curfew are the ones going on their 4th year in junior college smoking out after class. My friends and I all experimented with certain drugs and hooking up with chicks and we all have steady jobs that pay decently and are finishing up our general ed. in order to transfer to 4-year universities. Unfortunately I had friends that fell into the dark hole of buying cocaine at 4 in the morning and girls who'd spread their legs for the same, it was sad to see them in this state, but I wasn't going to end up like that so I distanced myself from them and that was that.

No it isn't. The normal age for high school seniors everywhere in the U.S. is turning 18 sometime during school year, if they started school (kindergarden & 1st grade) at the normal age. The normal range would be from turning 18 the end of summer between 11th and 12th grade to turning 18 the beginning of summer after graduating, those are the extremes with most everyone turning 18 during the school year. It is now March for anyone who hasn't noticed, the vast majority of HS seniors are now 18. My 18th birthday was the last day of school, I was on the young end of scale for my grade.

Sorry, but this bit of inference, (that she is a minor), has been bugging me the whole thread. Statuatory rape can be a serious crime, but when an 18 y.o. is banging a 17.5 y.o. and you call it rape, that's a travesty. And where did he say that the guy was over 18?? Why start a witch hunt?? :mad:

Amir, I think that was well spoken, or written, as it were. And, I am definately and old man. I have a tremendous amount of contempt and anger about what goes on in this country. Some times that shows too much. I should have never touched this subject.

Denis, that's probably true. When I went to school, it was common for kids to skip a grade and graduate at 17, sometimes 16. I graduated at 17 but never skipped. At 18, when I was at that age, Uncle Sam snapped you up and sent you to Viet Nam. It seemed old at the time. Old enough to die, which some of my friends did. I still can't associate 18, war and death with high school. Most of us at least got started in college before Sam was breathing down your neck. If you didn't maintain at least a 2.0, goodbye and hello US Army.

Maybe that's where I get all these provincial attitudes. BTW, I didn't fight in Nam. I was flyin' heliocopters with G.W. Bush in AL :D
