New Bomb in Madrid

Guess they just found another bomb planted near the train tracks in Spain. Surprise!!! Apparently kissing the terrorists rear ends didn't help a bit.

No, I am under the correct opinion that the majority of Spanish voters expected that terrorism would go away if they kissed the terrorist's behinds by electing officials with an appeasement platform....much as many posters here do!

Look...Im not going to condem the whole country of Spain, just because of what happened last month.

Facts are that the US is due to have this happen to us this year. I hate to say it, but our security is very very lax.... anyone could blow themselves up in public here, taking many lives with them and instilling fear and terror throughtout the land. Thats the definition of 'terrorist'.

Whats going to happen around election time here in the US is anyone's guess.... I just hope that our guys can somehow prevent it.

The other day, the CHP was pulling over white panel trucks all along the 405. Coincidence?

I was in Spain on Thursday and rode the train. The whole time we joked that we were helping to fight terrorism by not being affraid.

To all in Spain you have a wonderful country and people. Terrorism must be stopped.

The lesson the terrorists learned from the Spanish train bombs is that an election can be 'steered'.

All you need is a populace that either mistrusts OR blindy believes the press, an anti-terror leader that has polarized the electorate, an anti-war liberal running against him in the race, and some 'evidence' that the present tough-line leader has 'lied'.

Plant some hysteria generating bombs, kill a few hundred people, and you can make that electorate vote an administration that will withdraw troops from your terrorist homeland.

Sound familiar? Remember this thread come November.

I plan to vote absentee from somewhere far away from the States for the last few weeks prior to the election.

Spain has been dealing with terrorist bombings for decades. I think they have more experience on the subject and how previous solutions have worked than our american punditry who are attempting to spin this into a 'if the terrorists attack us you must vote for bush' pile of BS.

"We just have to figure out what to do about the terrorist thing. If we go in and anihilate a nation, they just move to another. I think the best way to handle them is with covert operations. At the amount of money we spend daily in Iraq, we could fund special forces and insurgents in every country necessary. And, we need to be more swift in dispatching those involved in terrorist activities. I know they would double dip and keep running the drugs, but they might expose themselves enough for us to take them down. Greed is good in this sense.

What is really naive is to beleive that the war on terror aka the invasion of Iraq is decreasing the risk of terrorism on US soil. It could even be that nuclear bombs are already planted in several big US cities, and ready to be detonated. At least, it is what this interview suggests. Hopefully it was just a hoax, but still a scary perspective...

Not sure about Napoleon..but the Nazis used Switzerland to launder money...Sorta like many countries were doing for Saddam in the "Oil for Food Program."

This is how you fight terrorism, not by invading muslim countries. The key word here is INTELLIGENCE.
