Ha, that's good (even assuming it's a bit TIC). This should probably be a whole new thread but... Why would you go to the trouble (or follow mandate) of wearing a helmet, and only choose to wear half-a-helmet? I'd bet a broken jaw, nose, or face lacerations due to misc. "intrusion" in a violent crash would convert the open-face helmet users pretty quickly.

Sorry, TIC = tongue in cheek.

Oh, sorry, I don't sling the lingo so good. ;)

Here's the thread where Supes and I have it out (I exaggerate, it was a most civil disagreement):

Eric, I'm going to a funeral on Saturday for the guy who helped do most of the bodywork on my car. Did something stupid on his Hawg Saturday night, got highsided, and had one of those stupid beanie helmets on that those guys love. Whacked his face against the only rock around and succumed to the facial/head trauma. 38 yrs young.

Man, that sucks Greg. :( I just don't get it. In Blue's neck of the woods (Arizona) they don't have a helmet law, and it seems everyone riding a moto likes to take advantage of that "freedom" there. To me, it is just completely stupid. Might as well be riding 2-up with the Grim Reaper himself.

I call them "donorcycles".

The guys I ride (and have ridden) with all wear at least 3/4 lids. We're all kind of baffled at anything else.

The other day I saw 6 or 7 sweet young things each riding her own hog. For the most part all they were wearing were spaghetti-strap tops, tight jeans, and those cute little backpacks. It's a shame...the stats are gonna catch up with at least some of them...makes ya real ugly real fast. :(
