Ever see your golf swing on video?

Yesterday I had my buddy use my digital to make a few Mpg's while we were playing. What an eye opener! Man you really can't believe you've been doing certain things without knowing it. I watched them a hundred times last night, made mental notes and hit the range at lunch today. What a difference! I have a round tonight and we'll see, but wow so far. Slowed the backswing a bunch(am I really that fast), straightened my back, and moved in on the ball. It's hard to believe my buddies have never mentioned this stuff as it was insanely obvious on film. Anyway, just felt like sharing

Having your swing videotaped is one of the most humbling experiences you can have.

I always thought I had a pretty good swing, as I usually shoot low 80's. But it was downright embarassing to see my swing on tape. I looked like a complete hack. I was amazed I could even hit the ball straight.

Because of the tape, I changed a few things to improve the swing. I now look much prettier, but my handicap didn't move .

Don't you gamble when you golf?

Well for thos eof you that golf. Try recording on Video your basketball jump shot or how you play defence. I was laughing at my self when I did. You could bearly slide a sheet of paper under my feet during my so called "jump" shot. Oh an my defence? Try bricks for shoes and you wold probably play better defence then me. I was also surprised at how my arms seem to stretch an extra 12 inches because i was to lazy to move my feet (hence a foul call) against me

Good point Moses, I don't golf unless I gamble or it is a money tourney

Getting use to my "new swing" is something I tell ya. My buddy told me it was all over now that I've seen the film, as no one can ever recover from such an experience. We'll see, I have 18 more tonight and if don't smooth out, my outing in two weeks is gonna be real expensive! For instance I'll give ya the front yesterday. Par, 9, par, par, birdie, birdie, par, par, 12. How's that for variety the 9 and twelve are due to my Tin Cup never admit defeat attitude on the course, #2 was two in the pond and #9 was 4 OB off the tee What a game.

You golf like me! (Except for all those birdies.)

With greens fees as high as they are, there's no way I'm laying up. I had a long shot to the green and asked my partner if he thought I could get there with a 5 iron. He said, "Sure... Eventually."

I used to golf fairly regularly when I was younger. The best level I achieved was mediocre. One year I went to a big convention in New Orleans. They had a big golf tournament at the course there in New Orleans (forgot the name, but they have PGA events there, has an island hole about halfway in and is surrounded by really nice, huge houses.
English Turn? Nice track! I have not had a video taken of my swing in fourteen years. When it was shot, the only thing the instructor had to say was my alignment was out of whack. Now I teach myself the tricks. What alot of instructors say about one consistant swing is a load of crap, ie. different lies and ball flight control judges what ones swing should do. Time and dedication to reach that top level utimately factored into my decision to enjoy drinking beer, and having a good competitive round with my buddies. All I ask of myself now is a round between 74-79. I'm having alot more fun on the course now. Still searching for that ever illusive ace. Who has one?
