Advantage Schill. Definitely.
Mussina isn't bad, but I think the Sox hitters will do better against him than the Yankees hitters will against Schilling. Best thing about last night's game: WHIFF! Strike 3 on Jeter! I've watched the Tivo replay of that about a dozen times. Way to go Foulke! |
Nope, guess they couldn't hit off of Schilling either.
Your $20 million man - 0 for 8, hitting .171. Nice. Good deal. I'm glad the player's union forced the "money means everything" Yankees into taking him versus the Red Sox. I imagine he'll be on the block with Joe Torre come mid season anyway with performance (or lack thereof) like that. Seriously did anyone REALLY believe that Steinbrenner telling Torre that he had a three year deal was anything more than a publicity stunt to attempt to dispel the image everyone has of him. How trite. PLEASE!!! BTW Yankees fans, be sure to thank A-Rod for hitting into that double play, it helped keep Schilling's pitch count down and the trouble of having to strike out another Yankees hitter. |
prediction: Sox win tomorrow (Lowe vs. Contrereas), Yanks win Monday (Brown vs. Arroyo - that isn't even close to fair)

Paul O'Neill and Mike Kay are NOT getting along in the YES Network broadcast booth:
"At one point, the Red Sox players were drying off the barrel of their bats. Michael Kay said it was stupid, and asked why they would do it. Paul responded that if the bat was dry it would get better traction on the ball rather than the ball slipping off the bat. He compared it to drying off the grip of the bat so that your hands wouldn't slip. A few seconds later Kay says that he can't understand it, at which point O'Neil says "Well Michael, you ask a question and then you don't listen to the answer." -quoted from a poster on Sonsofsamhorn.com ------- Michael: "You guys [1996-98 Yanks] always got into Pedro's head." Paulie: "Yea, Michael, particularly the night when he struck out seventeen of us in a pennant race in September." |
I should add:
"if Elvis joined the Beatles, they'd would have sucked too". - Paul O'Neill, RE: A-Rod |
Yea, finally got my SoSH ID, I can finally post. . . Have you compiled the Pythagorean projections for this season thus far? I think mine are predicting a 98 win season for the boys right now. :)
