Now that John Kerry's military records are reased...
what do you guys think the Bushies are going to say? Looks like he was actually quite brave and decisive.
Of course, how can you trust a man who speaks fluent French and whose mega-rich wife says things to the press like: "John is best when he comes from behind..." |
released, of course...
|
Yeah, he killed something like 20 vietcongs...no wonder he did not want his record released: the man is modest :D

Not like the President who all terrorists fear! and who deeds will be judged only by a higher power.....
|
Not sure "modest" is the best choice of words, Aurel. It suggests that there is perhaps something to be proud of, but the emotion has been stifled for any number of reasons. I'm not a veteran, but when I have heard WWII veterans recalling their combat experiences, they are proud of their service to the country, but subdued about the particulars involved.

Is that a turd I see dangling from your tail, Aurel?
|
Yeah, I thought that was the most surprising part that he actually charged after the VK and killed them rather than cleaning out.
Evaluations of his commanders are pretty glowing too. |
I give him credit for not bragging about those killings. Wouaf !

No stories about the "good old days" from him...and he wasn't hanging around the base barbershop either. |
You`re right Woodpie: modest in english has a meaning subtely different than in french. In english, a beautifull woman who wants to hide her body is said to be modest. In french, a genius who calls himself a dog is said to be modest. Kerry, somehow made beleive that he had been a dog during the Vietnam war, while he was a Lion. This is in contrast with GW Bush, who tried to appear like a groundhog, while what he really was is a weasel. When I think about it, Bush should be the one fluent in french :D

Yeah, good point. I'm pretty sure both my grandfathers fought in WWII (my father told me his Dad flew Spitfires), but neither one of them has EVER mentioned the war.
|
I swear, Aurel, you're stealing from Ionesco again, ain't cha?

I'm waiting to see how the Kerry-haters turn his military services records into evidence of cowardice, war crimes, etc. I await the creativity.
|
I'm sure that Fintstone is working on a final draft as we speak, soon to be part of the Pelican record. ;)
It does beg some pretty impressive campaigning skills to somehow turn Bush into the warrior in this deal. |
Well, here is the first shot according to the news item I read (New York Times, FWIW, which mostly reported that the military record was great):

I also find the atrocities that he said he said he committed later are conspicuously absent from the after action reports he wrote. Of course, I am a hero in all the reports I write too. I just don't say later, when it is politically expedient "oh by the way, I actually committed some atrocities too that I forgot to report...but it wasn't my fault….every soldier does it!"
|
Jeez, you're really hard up for a rebuttal here, aren't you? All the records were released today (that's the point of this thread), and the guy who committed atrocities is Bob Kerrey, not John Kerry. You just don't care what you're saying as long as it's slanderous.

While he is at it, I would also like to see his FBI records too. There are lots of questions he could answer with those too. Honest men have nothing to hide.
