what is the story of moderators?
 

are they volunteers? do they get paid by pelican? what is the deal? i dont know much. but i dont think wayne even has met them all. right?

I think that for the most part they are long time members who have shown good judgement and character in their posts, though a couple of them are sort of curious choices. :rolleyes:

They definitely do not get paid, and not all are friends of Wayne or have even met him. It's totally a virtual reality thing. ;)

i think there is a secret handshake and matching aviator hats they get. its like a frat kinda, they gather and spank each other with big wooden paddles on bare bottoms and chant about things.

no offense to Z-man, im the 1st to get on him (like the street racing thread), he really gets it and plays along for the most part, but the off topic moderator is like the busch series, like AAA baseball, or gelding put out to stud. nascars busch series is just that, bush league, drivers coming up and going down at the end of the line. triple A baseball is pretty much the same, the young guys ticketed for the big time and a bunch of crash davises at the end of the line. gelding put out to stud,,, well whats the point, he stoneless and on his way to the glue factory.

kd911sc: I've been the moderator of the OT forums since day one. I've got the scars to prove it! (from the wooden paddles, of course!)

If you're impling that the OT Moderators don't last a long time, I think it is quite the opposite: I've built up a nice immunity hanging around here...
