I was born a Democrat and I expect I’ll be a Democrat until the day I leave this earth. But I have grown mighty frustrated with the direction my party has taken over the last few years. National Democratic leaders today are moving further and further away from the principles that made our party great.

OK then. He can call himself whatever he wants, but I think he's stretching pretty hard to say that GWB stands for good "old-fashioned" Democrat thinking.

Having been one of those good old-fashioned democrats, I would say that in many ways (much more than Kerry), he does. Miller was a brilliant democratic governor of GA and left office with an 85% approval rating. He could have delivered a lot of the south for the right candidate. Instead of listening to him, the party marginalized him...Their loss...GW's gain.
