Well, at least the government was able to make a few suckers fall for this scam and send a message to the US muslim population at the same time. How strange that SteveStromberg, pwd72s, fintstone and others have not provided an update to this story concidering their earlier opinions concerning its validity. Whats that old saying about a sucker being born every minute? Nowadays I think its up to about one every several seconds. |

Yup! No update? I heard the story only a few hours ago. And I'm still wondering if everything is as our media reports... Do you remember "Mike Hawash"? Also arrested in Portland Oregon...also defended by local supporters who claimed his innocence? Then he struck a plea deal to avoid a life sentence? He was defended by this same lawyer. Hmmm. Me? I'm still suspicious, still waiting. Much as we all may hate the FBI? These guys don't usually go off half cocked.

I agree that it may be too soon to tell. The Spanish claim the prints were someone elses.....the FBI claims they were his. The Spanish "own" the case..so we really had no way to hold him.

Hey He had ties to the bomber he is guilty until proven innocent. Things changed big time on 9-11. I do not think that this is the last we will hear of this guy. Just wait he will be going to jail after plead out his case.
