How many years were those?

I don't know that military actions lasting less than say, one month, can make for statistically accurate comparisons. Modern wars aren't fought like old-fashioned wars, either. And Americans don't fight wars like other countries. Compare US casualties to Russian casualties in WWII, for example. (shrug) Draw your own conclusions.

The numbers of lives lost in all past wars is more than enough, we do not need to lose any more. I believe the worst war besides WWII with respect to the US was the Civil War.

I went to Arlington National Cemetary when I was a kid and I have never forgotten the images in my mind.

I am however glad that a soldier was finally bestowed his medal of honor even though he died 34 years ago in Vietnam this past week.
