Also, did anyone see the young actress at the end of the E! channel coverage of the Canne Film Festival?

Towards the end of the show this young actress (?) was approached. Don't know her name but when given her few seconds in the spotlight she was quick to give her anti-Bush statement and she proudly said she was backing Kerry/Edwards. When the Commentator laughed and apprised her of the fact that Edwards was out of the race she argued that it was Kerry/Edwards. When she figured she was incorrect she collected her thoughts and said "I really do know what I'm talking about".

How fashionable.

I can't wait until Ralph 'spoils' the election right before Jeb 'steals' the election and Al 're-invents' the internet, and GW 'starts' another 'war' to 'support' the price of gas so that Alec and Madonna can visit Barbra in her newly adopted 'country' of France.

Then we can all go back to being 'boring' and talk about dino vs. synthetic and SC vs. Carrera.

Maybe she knows something we don't...in any case, I am convinced that most liberals are not too bright...the word "research" does not enter into their vocabulary and when it does, they quote "sources" such as the New York Times (The Paper of Fabricated Record).

She doesn't know any better. She just wants to be rich and famous so she has to parrot what others say. She should probably keep her mouth shut and stick to the casting couch.

So ... should I use dino or synthetic? Don't keep me waiting, the suspense is killing me!

"Doctorow Booed After Anti-Bush Speech"

Wed May 26, 3:25 PM ET Add Entertainment - AP to My Yahoo!

NEW YORK - Author E.L. Doctorow, who penned "Ragtime" and "City of God," was stunned when his commencement address at Hofstra University was booed by some students angry at his criticism of President Bush (news - web sites).

"I thought we were all supposed to speak out," he told The Washington Post in Tuesday's editions. "Isn't that what this country is about?"

In a 20-minute address to graduates at the Long Island school on Sunday, the novelist criticized Bush's tax cuts, anti-terrorism policies and the Patriot Act, but focused mainly on what he called Bush's "untrue" stories about the war in Iraq (news - web sites).

"One story he told was that the country of Iraq had nuclear and biological and chemical weapons of mass destruction and was intending shortly to use them on us ... but it was not true," Doctorow said.

"Another story was that the Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein (news - web sites), was in league with the terrorists of al-Qaida, and that turned out not to be true. But anyway we went off to war on the basis of those stories."

That led to a torrent of boos and catcalls that forced Doctorow to stop talking. Hofstra President Stuart Rabinowitz stepped to the podium and asked the audience to let him finish.

A Hofstra spokeswoman said Monday that e-mail and other reaction to Doctorow's remarks had been "all over the map," but on balance, "more angry comments than positive."

"We feel that first and foremost, the commencement is a celebration of our graduates and their accomplishments," said Melissa Connolly, assistant vice president for university relations. "We regret that the contents of his speech diminished the day for some of our graduates and their families."

Doctorow, 73, a National Book Award and PEN/Faulkner prize winner, received an honorary doctorate in humane letters.

He told the Post that his speech made the point to graduates that "simply because something was said by authority did not mean it shouldn't be questioned. I think it was entirely appropriate." "
