They put in the right ingredients but somehow things didn't turn out as they should.

I say: Not good enough.

Go to the Porsche website and watch the films of the 997 there... very cool.

:)

Anyone feel like grabbing a direct link for me? Or if not at least tellintg which part of the website the videos are in?
I cant find the videos on the site

I need to make more money.

SOmeone said the style is evolutionary..

Evolution is a long term thing

The styling, IMHO, is tired, looking its age and simply another rendition of a 30 year old theme.

Nice, but not jaw dropping....

I'd like a GT3 version of it. In other words, one with a decent engine.

No vote catagorie for me: "I like it, no more, no less than the 996."

That's what I would say. Good evolution of the 900 series. Actually, my least favorite of the modern cars is the 993.

CJFusco 06-04-2004 09:05 AM

your LEAST favorite is the 993?!?

Have you ever SEEN one?!? ;)

I really think its lookin good. I can agree on the hood and the hood vent (much needed), but a rear reflector??? not so sure about that one. Split grill like lelands or the C4S might be cool though.

I like the body much more than the 996. If they would just go back to the true dry sump motor (like GT3 and TT), it would be even better.

CJFusco 06-23-2004 02:09 PM

more!

yeah, me too. oh how I miss those twin 50cal pintle mounts :D

I like it. the turn signal styling reminds me of the early 911s

I guess I would of like to of seen something that makes more of a statement. But still far better than the 996.

Which begs a question: Just what the heck is Porsche going to do after three more design revisions. You get to 999 and then what? Back to 901? Give up and start using names like Biscane? Get bought out by GM and get the parts bin raided and the name leveraged like every other boutique manufacturer?

CJFusco 06-23-2004 06:39 PM

more fun with the 997
