Where To Visit In UK(car related)?
Where To Visit In UK(car related)
I am planning a vacation in UK/London later this year. Any suggestions of where I should visit(while wifey goes off shopping). I am currently going through the web and found :- http://www.motorbooks.co.uk/about.asp Motorbooks seems to have a wide variety of books.Any other motor/auto book specialist? What about old/second hand magazines/books? Car musuems? Car fairs? Bimmerfest fest? Anything of interest to a car buff like me. Thanks |

When are you over?
There's the annual P-Car Club event a Brands Hatch in August...should be very good. Or Festival Of Speed at Good wood )advance Tckets only) in July. A chance to see some very serious cars up close and personnal. Not sure what the theme is this year but there will be loads of racing Ps being thrashed up the hill, Or Goodwood Revival Meeting in Spetember, racing o50s and 60s cars in historic context around a very good circuit. P car count low as 911s are not allowed but a race with 6 GT40s and 2 Ferrari 250LMs can't be sniffed at. Classic Car events galore over the Summer... Museums worth a trip....in London htere' the Science Museum and Brooklands at the circuit. Both very interesting. There's the Haynes Musuem in Yeovil near Bristol. Home of the infamous books, with a spectacular collection of cars. For a more country flavour there's the Cotswold Motor Musuem in a place called Boughton on the Water. Small but very good. The place si so quaint yor wife will love it. In the Midlands there's the National Transport Museum...with the SSC and Thrust Two cars. Hope that gives you a flavour. Cheers, M. |

If you visit Motorbooks do it at your own risk!!!
I went to London with my family a few months ago and I went there and bought "a few books". Since this happened early in the morning I had to carry the books all day long!!! |

Motorbooks is excellent!
If you have time a visit to Beaulieu motor museum is mandatory! Closer to central London (aviation but you might enjoy) is RAF museum in Hendon.
